i am sure there are other people who feel the same way as i do, but i am geting real tired of people using gold ammo in pub matches.  the fact that you feel the need to use gold ammo shows that you have no skill.  i am stoping my rage now.

To me its just any irritating annoyance. However, If there weren't people who do that for what ever their reason is then World of Tanks would not be running as good as it does with out their monetary support    :Smile_blinky:

Actually I use to buy it once in a while in my KV-5 because I do get up against higher tiers and although I know where to hit for critical damage, even gold rounds do not always work so really it becomes a waste even for clan wars and tank company since its still random whether they do any damage or not ...

Some people never use gold rounds in pubs, while others only load gold. If you ever see someone from -G-, they probably have some gold rounds loaded if they're in an upper tier tank.

WoT just had gold rounds on sale at 58% off this last weekend, so expect the gold rounds to fly.

I've only used gold rounds in pubs under 2 circumstances:

1) By mistake, I bought gold rounds for my S-51. I caught it after playing 5 rounds and I'm back to silver rounds.
2) Had to try the Konish Gun on the VK3601(H).

Not sure if the person was using a gold round or not.  But the other day while in my 3601 someone shot me in the side (they was driveing a 3601 too) and took me out in one shot.  Full health to zero.  He was using the 88.

Seemed odd to me but meh, I will go on.

Yet Another Don't-Use-Gold-Rounds-In-Pub-Battles (YADUGRIPB) thread ...

Use of gold rounds does NOT mean a lack of skill. Not knowing what to do, where to go, how to fire at a tank (preferably a red one) ... THOSE indicate a lack of skill.

On a few of my tanks I load 2-3 gold rounds for those really itchy situations, and those rounds are usually leftovers from CW or tourneys. And, honestly, I almost always forget they are even there ...

OP is just a really stupid post.

Theres no way to tell if you were killed/shot my gold or just got hit by a well placed shot. Ive used my jumbo with the 105, and one shotted panzer III/IV and IV's, and have done 350-420 damage to the backs of some big heavies, but have never once used gold.

If they ever get one shoted its gotta be a gold round right? Because gold rounds do so much more damage than a regular AP round(sarcasm).

Dumb question time...

How can you tell what's being shot at you?  I think I can sometimes tell between HE and Ap, but only sometimes...

I load gold rounds in my crap captured french tanks, for when I go up against other french tanks.  Helps cut through that heavy armor, since the accuracy on those guns aint so hot.

I take my cue from history. APCR or gold rounds were rare and often saved by tank crews for "special" occasions. US crews had something like 3-5 rounds per tank in good times.

I use them in my M4A2E4 with the 75mm since it can't be upgraded. I keep a few for when my puny little gun is facing a tough nut from a higher tier.

Six pounder on the Ram and Churchill too.

stock up at half price sales and use sparingly.

HE sounds like a BOOM, while AP sounds like something is tearing into your tank. also, there is a rumor that gold rounds are evidenced by blue tracers, but other than that, no other confirmation. i would love to see if i can change the APCR and HEAT shell penetration sounds to something easily distinguishable like kittens....

I've had multiple T34 players (for example) rage at me for using gold in my high tier tanks, including after getting penned in the hull by a shot from my T30!

So unfortunately, most of the time, people who complain about gold have no idea about armor and penetration value of various guns.

Though I wouldn't mind if players who have shot gold rounds in a pub match would get marked somehow, which would eliminate pointless and 90% false speculation about somebody using gold.

simple rule of economics :-

higher the production = lower cost

             that is

more gold used= it may gt cheaper

so as far as noob using gold ammo is concerned, its ok for me.
