So, the 7.5 test is out, and one of the features included that has been rather anticipated, is the ELC AMX. AMX ELC, ELC, whatever you want to call it. This tank is one of the oddest, yet most hilarious tanks out there to drive, and is a real oddity. Its makes tanks like the M3 Lee and every other abomination out there look like its normal. So, let me walk you through the stats and all of this tank.

Hitpoints:

The hitpoints of this tank 400. Which, for a tank this bloody puny, is rather impressive, even if its the lowest of all tier 5s. Dont let that fool you, on top of that, your in danger of being one shotted by nearly almost every tank that you'll face out there. 105 Derps, 122s, 105s in general, anything big. This thing cant take hits at all, so try to avoid being hit as much as bloody possible.

Weight and armour:

Armour? What armour? What weight, too? This thing has no armour, and likely can be penetrated by a .50 cal (Have yet to test that). You weigh around 6.5 tons base, and have 14/12/10 armour all around, turret included. basically, your armour is paper. Its not even paper. Its as strong as a piece of string. if that doesn't show you how much is there, its liquid. dont get hit, or your generally screwed from top to bottom.

Gun:

You have two legitimate gun choices to chose from. the 75 millimeter Long 44, or the 90 millimeter D 914. The Long 44 generally has less pen, accuracy, and the same area of aim time, but its rate of fire makes up for the lack fo everything else, at about 4.8 seconds between each round. The D 914 is the other one. It has the reload area of what the 122 on the KV-1s would have, but packs a punch and has a respectable 170MM of penetration. Its mostly a sniper gun, s the combo of speed and weak armour doesnt work well with it.

Speed:

We all know the infamous T-50-2, right? Said to be one of the fastest accelerating tanks in the game? ELC just beat it out. How? Lets see the engine, weight, and HP/ton for each tank:

ELC:
250 Horsepower
6.6 T
37.88 HP/T

T-50-2:
550 Horsepower
16~ T
34.35 HP/T

Basically, you've got speed. Lots of it. USE IT. You cant turn like a T-50-2, but you've got the acceleration to make up for it and 64 KM/H isn't anywhere near slow. You can scout, but your not a dedicated one.

Size:
The size of this thing is puny. You can put it on the Type's turret and it will compare about that size. Either that or it's about the size of the AMX 13's hull. Use it for advantages in ambushes, dodging shells, and hiding in small buildings and areas. Furthermore, I don't know the camo, but it's likely one of the best in the game due to the size.

Weird and Wonkiness:

Now, as I said, the ELC is a very awkward tank. But whats so weird about it? First off, you have TWO crew members. if you lose the commander, you lose everything but your driving abilities. Lose both and your crew is all dead. Kapish? Second off, the turret. Everyone one until now knew it had a turret, but does it really? Yeah it does, but this is a Mini M3 Lee. Your turret cant go 360. treat it like a Lee. Yovue got the speed to get out, unlike the Lee. You've got a gun that can make people wet themselves, which also helps. Your mobility is great, so you can do dedicated scouting if needed. This tank is great fun to drive, whether sniping or scouting. Partially because its hilarious to run around with such an odd turret. Don't get hit, snipe, and hit and run. Or scout, either works.

Thanks for reading!

P.S: This is my first review, don't get mad if its horrible or i got something wrong. Positive support would be helpful!

Wait, it CAN'T turn a full 360? That's new

It's like a brutally nerfed Hellcat

I disagree OP.  The ELC has plenty of potential to be a
dedicated scout.  The only problem is right now in test,
that bloody 90mm's reload and ROF are horrible.  The
other issue is the traverse width.  It's too small for that
tank.

This is probably the first tank that will be equipped with
BIA in the garage right off the bat.  The commander is
doing too much crap and with the gun as it is set now,
you'll need that first.  I love camo, but this things top
gun sucks in the practicality department.

I didnt say it wasnt a dedicated scout. I said it could scout just fine.

BTW, the T-50-2 isn't the fastest accelerating tank in the game, the BT-2 is, with 42 HP/ton.

It's not the smallest tank (that goes to the Ren UE), but it deffinately is the shortest, and how they can cram a man in there while keeping him comfortable is beyond me.

Plus, I do foresee some form of nerf, not sure what yet, but it's just too dang fast with too dang powerful of a gun.

I have played a few battles in my M4 against this in the test server, and it literally runs rings around an M4. It also doesnt die as easily as the OP implies.

The rotation is like 30-ish degrees to each side, so not much far off from a tank destroyer.

Give it a neutral transmission (pivot like a 3601(h)) and then it might be able to compensate for a lack of a fully rotating turret.

From what I have tested the new ELC AMX, I am pretty happy that I do not need to grind it. It is like a fast and tiny TD with a mid range gun. There is no reason to circle enemy tank like with other fast lights because it has no turret. The reload time is also pretty long, so you can not take two shots before you need to relocate if there is enemy guns pointing at you. Depending of the map, it can drive fast to a spot then aim and shoot and then scoot to cover and to another spot to shoot once again. I suppose the advantage it has is over TDs is that it is a light tank, so it gets the cover bonus even when moving behind cover.

Here is some first impressions footage that I was able to get from the test server:
http://youtu.be/XYnE6_mAMEE

I suppose that could still change a bit but probably not in any meaningful way.

I call it Rat 2.0. It does remind me of a highly improved Renault UE57.

Playing it on the test server alot, I love this tank. Kills high tier tds with ease, you can sit right up against a JTs front and even then he can't hit you.

Hmm, have to try that. It can't wedge on to TD/SPG side preventing it from moving and then kill it, like tanks with a turret can though.

Gonna get one. Looks like a hoot from the replays I've seen.

So if you have a 12t in the garage, fully elited, you get one of these fully elited? What about crew? Do you have to take your crew out of the 12t before it goes away, or does it get moved, skills and training intact?

well at least it makes a good bridge between the 12t and the 40 those r not similar at all! and idc how bad it is the point is that I'm getting a 100%crew and a garage slot with this tank all for free

If you have a 12t that is elited in your garage, you will be given an elited ELC, along with a 100% crew. You can find this info on the main page in the 7.5 update.

As for the tank itself, I found it to be a pretty darn amazing tank. The speed and mobility are incredible. I tested it with 100% clutch braking, BiA, and Vents. I was able to accelerate faster than a T50-2 (tested side by side) and I could turn nearly as well.

I only drove it a couple of times, and all of said matches were tiers 5-7. My general tactic was to wait until the enemy was distracted, then "joust" them. Basically, drive straight at them, fire, and then run away and repeat once reloaded.

I also did some tests regarding how short it is. You can hug the following in the face and not get shot:

Jagd E100
E100
Maus
Most large artillery (tested with GW Tiger and GW E)
And anything that has bad depression and is somewhat tall.
