I really wish Wargaming would allow multitaskers (ie loader is also radioman, some tanks have commander as radioman) to train in both skill/perk sets, if they are going to make those crewmembers twice as valuable.

YES! Its really dumb they don't allow this.

Will it be worth having a WAR and train the loader with safe storage? Or do they not stack

Well worth it!

I used to use Vents, Rammer, Vert. Stab.  But after patch 7.1 I noticed many more ammo rack detonations (used to have ammo rack damage plenty of times, just wasn't detonating very often).  Now I use both Safe Stowage and WAR - since I went that way I can't remember the last detonation, still get the ammo rack damaged of course.

I also have a lot of fires, I've gone with preventative maintenance on the driver to reduce it, but I'm not too sure that I want to give up another piece of equipment to have CO2.

I use the Rammer & Vents & WAR and I think that this is working well for me.

Used to run mine with rammer/stab/vents. Crew is 100% on BIA, and approx. 50% on repair, so took off the vents and replaced them with EGLD in order to get most accurate aiming in the shortest possible time. I have detonated the ammo rack on 59's many times, but surprisingly have never had it happen to me in approx. 250 battles.

Running rammer, stab, and Torsion bars.  I also run them on my T50-2 and I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of times I'm tracked.  Just getting my first skill at 100% running Mentor (which I"ll retrain down the line), Snapshot, Safe stowage.  I've been running remove speed governor alternating removing the first aid and the fire extinguisher.  I don't get many fires maybe 1/20 games but I might retrain for preventative maintenance, but I also love to ram with this tank and controlled impact looks great. I have the biggest dilemma with the driver skills, and I'm considering retraining him to look like this:

Mentor/Repair
Snapshot/Repair
Preventative Maintenance/Smooth Ride
Safe Stowage/Repair

Personally I don't like defensive equipment.

On my type59 I run Rammer, Vents, Vertical Stab.
Crew skills,

BIA/Mentor/Repair
BIA/Repair/Snapshot
BIA/Repair/Off road driving
BIA/Repair/Firefighting - May end up respecing to BIA/Adrenaline rush/Repair

I've started to rethink BIA, I started with retraining my T44 with BIA running Vents, Optics and Stab dropping the rammer.  It feels more agile and with the loader running at 121% I'm not missing that much from the rammer.  You have fantastic stats on your type I might consider your load out.

Optics, Enhanced Torsion bars, CO2 in gas tank.

The important crew skills to mention are... %100 jack of all trades, safe stowage and %100 Snap Shot & Smooth Ride. (I've got 3 full skills and %41 on the 4th; the next most important 2 for how I play are %100 clutch braking AND Off-Road driving)

Lastly, I run governor removal, repair kit and quality gas.

All told, my type weighs only 34.98 tons. The 520 horsepower engine gets a composite boost to 598 by my math. That in turn works out to the best-armored tier 8 medium with 17.095 horsepower per ton. In terms of pure acceleration, I don't pull ahead of enemy types awfully well, but it helps on steeper terrain and hp/ton boosts are quite noticable in turning fights.

===========

The name of my equipment, consumables and crew skill is featherweighting and dogfighting. Keep weight low, boost HP and turning, and aggressively knife fight when the opportunity arises. I get my fair share of bully kills but also work down top-tier tanks all the time. I don't always kill stuff like enemy IS-4's, -7's, T110's and 50b's but I'm still a mortal threat to all of them cause of their weaker side and rear armor.

In a team effort or a straight knife fight, the Type remains a potent tank.

My favorite prey these days is French lights. So, SO many have tried to circle me and I neutral steer in place far too fast for them to effectively flank me; from a terrain height advantage, I can quickly accelerate and pin then / ram for a bit of damage, and they can dump an entire mag (AMX 12t; 13 75 or even 90) and get a max of 4 penetrations before having nowhere to go and dying. Usually a 13 90 trying to solo me gets 2-3 pens and then realizes he just dug his own grave.

.....

I have thought of scrapping my equipment for something like this ....... gotta grind the credits for the new addons.

Rammer, Stab and WAR here.

Also, my crew is about to begin their third secondary skills and my loader has been trained to keep the rounds separated and the crew makes sure the tank is tidy and oil free.

As such, my ammo rack hardly ever blows up anymore and I seldom ever burn, it is fun to imagine the consternation on the faces of my opponents when they smack my well known ammo racks/fuel tanks and pffft, nothing!

Dont waste space with a wet ammo rack, in all the time ive been playing ive been ammo racked once. Just dont show your right side.

Vert stab, rammer, and vents to get the most out of it. (Vert stab is a must have, vents help with the subpar hp/ton)

Or if you want to play it stealthy (very good camo just like T-54, just stay behind solid bush and fire every 8 secs to keep camo) Vert stab, net, binocs.

Love the type, 62% win percentage with mine, 965 average exp (1447 with prem)

Wow, 1400 games in a 59 with no ammo rack deaths?  Impressive skill and, maybe some luck too.   I did not have any for the most part, early on, then after one of those patches maybe, I began to go boom suddenly again and again.

So I bought a WAR and it stopped happening.

See this hat?  It protects me from elephant attacks.  Do you know how I know it works?  ;-)

I did Gun Rammer/Spall Liner (for me at least I like ramming)/Wet Ammo Rack (since the ammo racks are huge and it has saved my behind many times).

FYI, safe stowage alone IS adequate to prevent ammo rack destruction on the type. Over 800 battles probably I exploded FIVE times max with safe stowage but NOT wet ammo rack and no prior damage to the ammo rack in the battle. (if ever you can't repair a damaged ammo rack, you're mobile tinder in any tank anyway)

Preventive maintenance though, alone, is grossly inadequate to preventing fires. I *believe* cause it does nothing to reduce gas tank fires and those are the bane of Type 59 drivers. CO2 in gas is very effective at preventing fires, cause engine fires are relatively uncommon on Russian diesel tanks and it's maneuverable enough to not be flanked.

But, I would say, you'll still burn, say %15 of your games, if I had to pick a number. Fires on a Type though don't burn too bad. (hp/second and module damage)

These are just considerations if you're interested in these crew skills and equipment. I have the better part of 2000 games in this Type, so I'm confident with these ballpark figures.

Rammer, Vert Stab and Wet Ammo Rack seems to work for me. I like the gun so I wanted to trick it out as best I could

I run mine with gun laying, v. stab and rammer.  Really helps your damage output.
Skills?
1st crew skill set: All repair(I considor it mandatory on mediums.)
2nd crew skill set: 6th sense, snap shot, smooth drive, safe stowage.

I used to get lit up all the time but after putting on WAR and safe stowage it made a big difference.
