I found one problem when installing OTM and timers that many might encounter. I was putting the res folder into the mod folder, you have to put the gui folder there instead. Works fine now.

to wargaming: all my friends in the clan on laptops that I removed ALL smoke effects, put 12%compressed texture packs, removed sky boxes, tree/water movement so there computers could play it CAN NO LONGER PLAY AT ALL so now about 25 of my friends cant play this game any more. I really hope you give people the option to use compressed texture packs and disable almost all graphics so that it looks like a game from the 90's that way people can have the option to use laptops to play the game
I completely understand this. I CAN play without using some of the aforementioned mods, but I'm praying I can somehow get at least the scope shadow remover and maybe stop tree movement so I get more than a miserable 8 fps.  While I'm excited about a faster load (which is especially awful on the first game of the day), I am not so happy to see the mod setup I was comfortable with go right out the window.

Still, I have my fingers crossed that maybe the mod thing will get sorted effectively, and above all, soon.  The matchmaking fix (which is supposedly coming with 7.2.) will be wonderful and all, but being able to play at all - for me and others - HAS to take priority.

JSME or whatever was too complicated and a pain in the arse. Was using WoT Mod Installer - worked like a charm. Doesn't anymore. Game won't start and need to re-install full version. Anyone know how to fix this? thanks

So, for some reason, WoT will not allow me to take a screenshot of this, but it appears that with any mod enabled that modifies the "text" folder, every single text label or button in-game turns into junk like #menu.currentvehiclestatus.disabled or #login.waiting...it also screwed up the "service" button, making it impossible to load shells or equipment.  I'm still trying to get a screenshot of it.  ~super annoyed~

EDIT: For mods to work consistently, you should copy over the entire folder from "res" that you'll be modding into "res_mods".  For example, I'm running six mods that all make changes to audio, gui, and text; so I copy those three folders from "res" to "res_mods" (approx. 255MB), and overtop of those, install my mods.  Works like a charm.  It appears that if a PART of a folder in "res" is going to be modded, WoT will look for the entire folder in res_mods.  Hopefully they fix that, or give a good reason why it behaves in such a way.

I can't seem to get the female USA tankers mod to work properly, anyone get this working?  The files use to be originally stored in the res\gui\maps\icons\tankmen
I tried both the old path and the new path in the res_mod folder and neither seem to work.

You may need to copy your entire "gui" folder into res_mods/0.7.1.1, and drop the modded gui folder overtop of that.  WoT tends to bork things up a bit for some reason otherwise.

WoT may only look for modified versions of pre-existing files, thus causing a mod that's designed to look for something in the "res" folder directly to break.  Which OTM are you using so I can try it?

I cna't use j1mbo's or j1imbo's OTM. I copied the 7.1.1 gui folder, pasted it in the red_mod/7.1.1 the put my OTM and crosshair into the copied gui in the res_mod and nothing.

In settings and crosshair is shows jimbo's mod text configuration but doesn't actually display it.

Try copying over "text" from "res" as well.  Fixed that problem for me when all of my text (the whole game's worth) was buggered up. Or to be safe, copy every folder in "res" except for packages, or use the WoT Tweaker Res Unpacker utility (link: WoT Tweaker V2.0), which does the same thing.

The thing about J1mb0's crosshar mod is he has text files to overwrite in the settings menu. That I see but I can't get his crosshair mods to work. So in other words, the text is working the crosshairs aren't.

Odd. I'm using Adiya's 0.71, which contains some of J1mbo's crosshairs. I'll fiddle with it more after I get out of work.

I can't seem to figure the last file part though that, aim/color/type and puting it in the gui/maps/ingame/aim

My gui doesn't have a MAPS folder so do I make one? in res_mod?
