Try the t2 light tank. Once, i got 4 kills in a tier 4 match :). You got to know what your doing though. Both churchill and matilda AND valentine are very slow. Valentine has the 45mm, so its very undergunned. CHurchill has a 110 pen gun, but only does 75 dmg. Matilda gots a 85 pen gun, but does 110 samage.

Basically, choose the one you like the most, also, make sure you reached a tier higher so you have a idea how the tank plays out.

My suggestion would be the t-25 German medium makes money and does decent damage if you don't want to brawl it is a good tank to use. The other two tanks are too slow for me but the Matilda is still fun slow but fun.

I prefer the Churchill, but it's honestly personal preference. The Matilda has superior armor, but vastly inferior firepower. Both are fairly slow; the Matilda is a little slower to move around, but the Churchill handles like a land yacht. I find the Churchil a more fun vehicle due to the fast firing gun, but it's worth noting that the armor is nowhere near the 176mm or whatever it's listed as. It's probably as well armored as a KV tank or a Panzer IV, or maybe a tad bit better. Churchill vs. Churchill, they can both hurt each other.

I do better in the Churchil myself, and can make money that rivals the KV tank, making it my best non-tier 8 money maker. The Matilda doesn't quite do as well, but that could be a result of my comfort level with the vehicle,

Finally. Bear in mind that both tanks get good match making, but suffer from a curse of the KV tank that all Tier 5's suffer from. KV's can easily 1-shot them with the Derp, and it gets old fast. The Churchill has a advantage fighting KV's though, thanks to decent penetration and the ability to fire something like 15 times for every 1 Derp shot.  Also, 700 hitpoints means that the 107 may have to hit it 3 times to kill it; in that time a Churchill should be able to kill a KV, the Matilda does not have this advantage, unfortunately, and stuggles to kill KV's from the front.

The M22 locust doesn't earn much, I find, but the fun factor is much, much higher than the Matilda or Churchill.

It's so small, darned fast (but not too agile) and seems to take a hit well, which makes for a decent scout/mini flanker, against the appropriate enemy, of course.

Between the Matilda and Churchill, I would pick... whichever one is on sale.  I've had both, done well with both, but currently still own the Churchill.  It has a horrendously fast ROF with top crew and kit, kills weaker tanks in seconds, and has all the top speed of a 4x4 with 3 flat tires, and 1 wheel missing.

For earnings, I recall hitting 30k+ on the Churchill a few times, but mostly around the 17-23k when not totally caught out of position by bigger guns and dead before I can contribute to the battle.  The repair costs are smallish, sorry I can't remember the average for those.

On the M22 Locust it's far less, around 5-12k in a good match, iirc.  I wouldn't suggest the Locust for earnings, if you get it, get it for the fun factor.

You can sell premium tanks, but only for credits. I don't have numbers right now, but I think a Matilda sells for around a hundred thousand credits (so about average for a tier 5 medium or a little less).

T-25 is good - Decent gun, decent armour, pretty fast, not too agile tho.  I'd guesstimate making about 12-25k, depending on the matchups and luck.  I've posted in several other threads about how nice I think this tank is.  It's also great if you need a crew trainer for German mediums, as it uses the full 5 man crew, so all spots can be trained.

T-14 is... not a tank I'd suggest buying, unless it's on sale and you just want to add to your collection.  So-so gun, good turret armour, but weak hull armour and low mobility.  I never found it bounced as well as that the linked article above talks about.  It would definitely be low on the list of tanks I'd suggest to friends.

The T-14 is generally good up to 100mm penetration guns. More than that an the penetration starts to become double the armor thickness, which I read somewhere starts to give it a bonus to the odds of going through. This means that the T-14 is more or less immune to things like M3 Lees, Matildas, and a lot of stock tier 5's, but become increasingly vulnerable to things like the Churchill or Panzer IV. And good luck bouncing a KV shot lol
