I am new to the game. I am at a crossroads right now. Should I go Russian or American? Should I be the bear or the Eagle? I want answers and reasons fast.

I want answers too. What is your play style?

I like firepower, and accuracy. I also like cheaper vehicles( but that is more optional then needed).

Russian tanks have more sloped armor. They tend to deflect more shots. I started with the american line myself. It's not bad. But I plan on eventially going through all of the trees.

Well if you like firepower and accuracy the German line might be your friend. As for cheaper vehicles they are all about the same cost per tier so there is no real savings in any line.

Russian guns tend to hit the hardest but the accuracy and reload times can suffer in some tanks. American guns are pretty good.

Here's a good chart for new players.

Heavies-Russia
Mediums-U.S.
Light-French
SPG/TD's-Germany. (For turreted TD's go to the second U.S. TD line in 7.2)

Due to the abominations: M103, T110, T34, and T30... You might want to join the pack, and go Russian. If you can't beat em, join em.

It's hard to answer this question when we do not know what is your play style. Do you... prefer to drop raining bombs upon enemies and laugh at them while they beat their fist up? Do you want to be a sniper who utilizes accuracy and distance and taking out tanks from afar? Do you want to endure more damage and be on the front lines? Do you like to surprise or suppress the enemies from another angle? Do you want to be a scout, dodging the impossible and laughing at the enemies' team because they keep getting sniped?

Please consider knowing what you want to do. It will change over time, but do try to think of a role you want.

Russian tanks are generally easier to play because their tanks are less difficult to grind. Most of their tanks have potentially strong weapons and can fair against higher tier tanks. Tanks that are worth mentioning are: T-28, KV and the rest of the Russian heavy lights.

Russian Heavy tanks are generally brawlers which means they can endure much more punishments in the front lines compared to other nations. They have high alpha damage but slow reload and low accuracy.

American tanks are generally very versatile especially the medium lines. Their medium lines nearly have all rounded stats that can enable them to take many roles from sniping, brawling, and flanking. Heavy tanks are sturdy area denial tanks that uses it's turret armor as a it's main asset. They carry a much bigger gun with higher RoF compared to the Russian tanks however, their hull armor are generally the weakest in higher tiers. Because of their armor, it's imperative that they must play as a support. They cannot brawl but their high damage enables them to keep up with it's competitors.

If your unsure, I recommend the Russian tanks. Their easier to grind and play IMO especially when you compare the tiers 4 - 6 and 8 to 10. They generally have faster tanks and are better armored.

For up-to-the challenge, try the American tanks. They require you to use "situational awareness" a lot more as their very dependent on the team. Thus the reason why their "support" tanks.

What he said, here's another guide line for recommended nations to play on.

Go for the American heavies, if you join the misconception that the Russian tanks are OP, you will be apt to selling yourself short. I suggest also going for the German heavy tank lines. Both the American and German heavy tanks reward skilled players with the best mix of firepower and accuracy. The best defense is a good offense, and I would say the American medium and heavy tanks eschew that notion very well.

Amazingly enough that misconception is backed up by the stats.

IMO (others may not agree) it goes like this

Germans (tanks and TDs)
pros = accurate guns, very thick armor, usually pretty good dpm, excellent at long range, and they also seem to have some of the best penetration up until the higher tier (for heavies)
cons = slow, very slow, the armor, although it is thick, is often un-sloped, at tiers 9 and 10 the German guns suffer from lower penetration

Russians (tanks and TDs)
pros = fast, usually the fastest in their tier (aside from french tanks), the armor usually has a very good slope to help bouncing, and their guns usually have the highest alpha damage
cons = while it is sloped, russian armor is not very thick, russian tanks often have long reload times, and lower dpm, terrible gun depression, terrible accuracy

Americans (tanks and TDs)
pros = very good in the area of soft stats (turning without moving, traverse speed, gun depression), specifically very good gun depression, average guns, insane turret armor, and they usually have decent mobility
cons = weak hull armor (bar the T95 and T28), the american tanks don't have a lot of cons and are average in most areas (I think?)

French (tanks and TDs)
pros = extremely fast, auto-loaders (tons of burst damage), a tier 7 light tanks, usually very good accuracy, good penetration
cons = you know how the american tanks have weak hulls? well starting at tier 5 the french tanks have weak everything and will be penned almost anywhere (although tiers 2-4 have surprisingly strong armor), also the french auto-loader has a very long reload time

If you are new to the game I would recommend going the russian line, as it is more forgiving than the others.  Also, this is just what I think of each nation, others may disagree and this may not be true for every tanks in said nation.

It's not a myth definately go Russian. They do have better tanks (T29 & T32 only good US heavies) Besides, when u get the KV2 turret & KV3 you will get free tanks & free tank slots.

Who knows you might even get the IS4 before patch 7.3 & you will get a free T10 heavy.

When people say the US line is "versatile", what they really mean is that you have been forced into a second line of attack (or "support") tanks.
