AMX 13 90 version 7.2 changes

I have just unlocked the amx 13 90, and if I sell the 75 I can buy it. But I don't know if I should, I hear it got an income buff of 10 percent at least. This will be my first tier 7, the other I can get is the IS. I need something that won't totally break my wallet. Should I get the 90 or hold out for the IS?

IS, cheaper repair. it generally makes money, unless mm throws you into bad match up.

On the CR front i find both tanks will make money (non-premium) on good battles. The IS ammo can get quite expensive tho, so you need to be hitting for damage with that.

IMO its gotten better; seems the acceleration and the turning are both increased so I'm more maneuvarable. I've never been one to sit and empty a whole clip unless its a perfect situation, got a couple of 1800 xp undoubled matches right after the patch thanks to being able to dodge and weave more easily now

well i'm done with my 13/90. i cant put a finger on but this tank dies way quicker and easier now. i'd bet they did a ninja nerf to its durability now. i hate it. i got hit once and it killed every module on my tank. i get tracked every shot first time. reloads between shots feels much slower than before. i only need 10k exp for the 40t but i see those doing even worse. thanks for screwing up what was a fun tank to drive. oh well back to the 34-85 so i can get a kv-13 and have fun again.

It annoys me I dunno if I should sell it or just keep it and hope a newer update will make it worth it again. I just got the thing now it gets hammered with a Nerf. So I have a question should I keep it or sell it. I hesitate on this choice because I spent alot of my spare time (I get off from work) grinding to get up the the 90.

So sad, the French line became instant fun for me once I got past that sorry excuse for a tank the Amx 40. Currently I've been looking the income I make on the amx 13 75 now and it is awful. The increased repair cost really hurts, as you almost always die in a French tank. The income has been nerfed as well. This used to be my best earner, on par or better than my KV. Not any more. Seems like the 90 is in bad shape. I guess if I go IS, then I don't have to worry about nerfs coming down that line.
Sigh.......
Sigh.......

Does this tank make decent credits now? I was using the 13 75 as a credit earning tank before patch, but it's not great for credits any more (still fun though).

Makes good creds for me, average between 25k-40k with premium, even on a loss you usually spot and hit enough that you make money regardless.

I agree that the after the recent 7.2 Patch the French tanks were totally destroyed! I saw no reason to have changed them at all. Due to complainers who apparently know NOTHING about the French tanks, the owners of the French line of tanks are forced into a doomed state. I am one such owner. I own all the auto loaders both heavy and light line. Now I am considering just selling them all for they are nothing but hunks of steel! The Bat Chatillion 25t was my favorite light tank and my AMX 50B my favorite heavy tank. It took skill to play these tanks, skill that took training to obtain and was very rewarding once mastered. In the end they were my only tank I could play well. As a result, my stats and performance was on the rise. I do not say I once loved the French tanks because I am on the end that dishes out the punishment to tanks but I am also been on the receiving end. The French tanks had their special place on the battle field. Personally, I found the French auto loaders added a dynamite and much needed fun element to the battle field. By nerfing them makes playing WOT not enjoyable or fun anymore.
The French tanks were easy to kill. Due to their week armor they could NOT take too many hits. Perhaps their most glaring weakness was during their reload time. For instance during the Bats reload time of 30 seconds they couldn’t do anything but cow or, hid in what hopefully was a safe corner while they endured the grueling 30 seconds of reload time. 30 seconds might have not seemed long in reload the 6 shot 100mm canister in a Bat but it always seemed like an eternity in battle. One must see the signs of when they were at this most venerable state and dive in for the kill. This again took skill and again everything about playing the French auto loader tanks developed a whole new mind set and skill set. An entirely different but ONCE fun strategy formed around the French tanks. As for nerfing their armor, the French tanks armor is already poor already, why the heck make it even worse? In fact, the new “balancing” of damage and armor has made all tanks “easier to kill.” The French line is no exception.
In most any battle, it seemed to me that the auto loaders were paired up fairly. As a “auto loader” I would look at the other side and seek them out to kill them first because they were the greatest threat to the meds and heavies.
Why Nerf the French tanks, the whole purpose of them was there auto loader. By decrease their effectiveness makes them nothing but scrap metal, cannon fodder. Indeed, why have them at all! Nerfing the auto loaders as is presently makes them absolutely USELESS. If this is not corrected and returned to the way were before the patch, the whole French Tree should be REMOVED. There is NO sense in playing the auto loaders with such nerfing! Just remove the whole tree line and call it a day. If this is not the developers plan then return the French tanks to the operation they were BEFORE the 7.2 update.
French tanks were also a valuable asset to the Clan wars and brought a whole new perspective to the battle field. Now one must consider if that is a wasted asset as they become defenseless ducks for the buffed artillery.
In short, the developers should have NEVER listened to the ignorant complainers. They should have left them as they were! The human nature of players would adapt and I already saw this trend taking place. For instance the meds would stay in packs to avoid be singled out and be surrounded by the auto loaders and the meds were protect the heavies by taking out the auto loaders while they were at their most vulnerable reloading state. I have many replays that proves this out.
This is assessment comes from a veteran of French tanks with hundreds of hours both before and after the latest 7.2 Patch. It is not based on a few hours of playing the French tanks nor is this being said from an ignorant complainer who just doesn’t know how to kill the French tanks. If any adjustments were to made, Match Maker should ensure that only a few were aloud in each battle just like was done in the case of the Type-59’s.

I was cautious going down the French med line from the very beginning because I knew the nerf was coming......Somehow I got to the AMX 13-90 and have a few games in it now fully upgraded. I sold that tank well before the patch because I couldn't play the thing, maybe I just needed some patience learning to play it, but I got it back after the patch and it seems.......meh...ok.....But for some odd reason I seem to be doing better in it now, maybe because I'm over reacting to the nerfs.
BTW, the devs 'never listened to complainers' as mentioned above.....for one I don't even think the devs read the forums, but they took note of the dramatic win% on the servers and decided on the nerf. However, they forgot to think about the fact that when the line was introduced, veteran players free xp'ed their way to the top tanks and it was mostly driven by competent drivers, just like what is happening to the T110's win% now, although in this case, the players trained themselves playing sub-par tanks and got better.
To me personally, does the nerf affect my play?....maybe no.....I've always thought of the french line as a 'unique, use only once daily for the double' line, because they look and play weird and I like that. What French tanks would I like?.....the AMX 50-120 and the Bat-Chat of course, Would they be my top played tanks? No.....they're too risky for me at least.
Every time any tank is nerfed I just get into the game with the feeling, "Hell yeah, I'm still here, bring it on baby..."
So here's the thousand dollar question, should I get the Bat-Chat or not...?

I just lost 5 games in a row last night with this tank. I was getting matched against tanks like the T34 and the T59. I went one-on-one with a T59 a few days back and lost badly. After playing for awhile, I feel they overnerfed it. It did need an adjustment, but this feels too extreme.
It's weighted too high to just scout and not all maps support scouting. It can't survive when seen by any tank around it's tier. You can't get as many shots off and you have the huge clip reload liability. My actual aimed fire rate was not much faster than the T59 I was fighting and then I have the huge delay when the clip runs out. The aimed fire rate was it's huge advantage and that's pretty much gone now compared to other mediums. This tank is now more of a liability because it can't fight for large portions of the battle. If down to two shots remaining, do you reload and potentially miss an opportunity shot? I'm not comfortable runing around with 2 shots as I will pretty much be dead if I run into anything. You really need all 6 to be aggressive but then you have to reload the clip too often.
I think this tank can be a scout or it has to be a vulture. The problem with being a vulture is that it will be highly dependent on your team. You have to have the opportunities to hit distracted targets and get out. This limits your ability to make a consistent contribution from battle to battle and maintain a high win rate.
Post 7.2, I'll take a T34 or T59 over a AMX 13 90 any day. I'm starting to view them as a major liability to the team where before they were a major asset. They should have adjusted how it was weighted when they did these nerfs.
I'm about 20k experience away from a Lorrain. I'm torn on selling it and coming back to it later or grinding through to the Lorrain. I've gone from looking forward to playing it to almost dreading it. Is the Lorrain going to be the same situation for a solo pub player? The 13 90 was OP in 7.1 but the Lorrain was massively OP so I'm hoping the Lorrain is still good and fun to play.

Sold hit and am not looking back. Will stick with tier 3 and 4 tanks-game getting to expensive to play and to me appears the only way to be competitive is to buy russian. Just listen to folks using american and german tanks, they are not the same and dont try telling me that the germans and americans did not make as good if not better steel during ww2 because they did, maybe thinner for the americans but german steel was strong-Look at the tiger in action during ww2-read books by carius and Fey about how rugged they were-Once a tiger came back with 107 hits and was still able to move on its own. No, as I said, russian game, by russians for russians.

after the 7.2 the reload is AWFUL and the rof is SHOCKING. my crew dies or all modules explode in 1 shot, i can only see 400m (440 with optics) i have 50 less hp and the MM literally poo's upon what used to be an amazing tank i hope the stats drop so its gets a buff next patch.
