This does not make sense. How can a higher tier TD be allowed to take on Tier 7 heavies?
Surely it should be Tier 6 Tank Destroyers?

It is not a mistake, at an even tier(7) TD's are not very effective and very seldom used in a 5v5. All they gain over the heavies is RoF and camo bonus at the expense of mobility, utility, and durability(hp). This is an attempt to make them a viable option

Arrgghh "09AM UTC (2AM PST, 5AM EST) each scheduled day." means it'll be 7pm Melbourne Australia time, no way I can play at that time with a castration by the wife.

I guess the overwhelming response to changing the start times went unheard
Doubt I will be able to make this comp as 7pm is just far too early for anyone with a family

These are still subject to change, I simply wanted to give the poll till the end of the week.
I've updated the page to reflect that, sorry for the confusion.
Please also note that I have changed some of the tiering. I am curious to get your feedback on the changes.

Not sure why this is at 9:00 UTC when 11:00 UTC is clearly winning in the poll? This will be a full two hours earlier than the first 3 challenges for those of us in Australian states where the DST will come off this weekend.
Also, 39 points is a LOT. If the maximum tier is 8 you are just 1 point short of having every player at max tier. Something like 35 points would make more sense.

If you allow Tier 8 mediums, then allow tier 8 heavies.
We all know that THE tier 5 light is the T-50-2 which normally gets assigned up to T10 matches.
Tier 6 arty is also maybe a bit high for tier 7 heavies.
I'd think that you either go: 7/7/6/4/5 or 8/8/7/5/6.
And finally...timing...considering most of the previous few finalists have been from Aus it'd be fair to run it later so we can defend our "rankings".

Don't worry, the timing will likely change according to feedback from the current poll http://forum.worldof...le_honoring.gif

However, the current poll has less than 50 votes, the previous vote had more than 1200.
If you are considering making such changes, I think you need to better advertise the fact (on the news page and/or in the Oceania forums) so that all players can provide their feedback - not just the few who are active in this forum.

While that's true, that was not specifically for tournaments and was long before DST occurred. The current poll has almost the exact same number of responses as previous polls which were exclusive to this forum. Perhaps in the near future we will make a more public poll, unfortunately there's not enough time to do that before the Challenge begins.
Also, note that the response to the poll has favored the 11:00 AM UTC time slot by 67%, which is probably a good indicator that the majority of players would prefer that time slot.

did you edit the rules ? tier 8 mediums or tier 8 TD's ? and 39 point is too much for that tier limits

Allowing T8 Meds and excluding the Lorraine doesn't seem very fair, why exclude the only French tank that would be picked, moreso now they have been nerfed to crap unwarrantedly IMO. Also is the the 39 point limit the only limitation as in can we bring in more than 5 players if want ?

Teams are still limited to 5 in a battle. We'll discuss the effects of 7.2 on the Lorraine on Monday / Tuesday and come to a final decision for the April tournament.

Please also discuss the point limit. 39 is too much, it doesn't leave any room for different team makeups. Pretty much the only viable option is a medium pack that uses all the maximum tiers and points.
My suggestion for a generous point limit is 35.

To be honest even 35 is too much as after a quick look 1 of my preferred loadouts is 33 points. As it stands 39 points means everyone's team will consist of 4xT8 Meds + 1xT6 Arty or T7 Heavy/TD.

I'm jumping in the NA Version, 2 reasons.........
# 11pm my time is a bit better RE: Family reasons
# Gold Prize is more than double, seems Oceanic members are worth less than their NA counter parts.

The gold prize directly corresponds to the number of participants in the previous tournament (above a minimum). Currently if we used the same formula for the Oceania tournaments the 1st place prize would be around 7,000 gold, fortunately we have a minimum. Once the participant numbers go beyond that minimum then the prizes will increase accordingly.
