SOLVED FOR ME ATlEAST
HOLY MOLY IT WORKED FOR ME!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I had the same issue as the author of this thread and the above link from the European WOT forum worked for me.

Their instructions were slightly different so here's what I did.

1. Go to the folder where your world of tanks game is. For me it is at: C:\Games\World_of_Tanks
In this folder look for the file named "version.xml" without the quotes of course. You need to backup this file, so copy it and save it somewhere you will remember.

2. Go here: http://forum.worldof...n-not-readable/ Go to post #11 by user "lbr". Download the file he has listed at step 2 from either location. Looks like this: "2) copy and replace version.xml - http ://forum.worldof...ttach_id=107295 or here - http ://forum.worldof...attach_id=31610" You will need to register on the WOT European site to get this file and the file in step 3 below. Copy this downloaded version.xml to your WOT folder, example: "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks".

3. Go here again: http://forum.worldof...n-not-readable/ Again, go to post #11 by user "lbr". Download the file he has listed at step 3. It looks like: "3) install 0.7.2_test2 - http ://cdn1.worldoft...e_fix_patch.exe"

4. Install the file you just downloaded. It's in Russian, so just click the normal button locations for next as you're used to doing. You'll get to a step where lists the intall directory. It will read as: "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_CT". Remove the "_CT" from the install directory and confirm that your game is located at: "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks", then click next, and finish.

5. Copy the version.xml that you backed up earlier in step 1 back to the "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks" folder.

You're done, start the game. Hope it works for you too.

LEAVE IT TO THE PLAYERS TO FIND A FIX

Maybe use the standalone 7.2 installer to repair your client program?

http://worldoftanks....lease-march-30/

Get the full game install, run it.

It will detect to see if you have WoT installed
- On default to a person who doesn't have it installed, it starts installing(duh)
- If the program is already installed, it will give options to either uninstall/repair the program/(something else I forgot)

Select the option to Repair, and it will search for corrupted files and replace them with a fresh should-be-working set

Glad you posted that video.  That is a mirror image of how my WOT launches now with 7.2. In a strange way I'm glad someone else has the same issue, but pissed we can't play.  Hope they fix this immediately!!

I've been having some of the same problems. When I load into a battle, the ground is all black and I can barely see the tanks around me. The only terrain features I can see are the trees, grass, structures and rocks. Are the two problems related?

I downloaded the full installer so I could install separately, keeping the old version for its own replays. I've also had problems when the program updated itself in the past, so I'd rather not install any update over the old.

it is possible they are some what related considering they all have to do with graphics  i'm almost certain it is ether server side issue or just bad coding that happened   allot of people are general having  the same problems.  So i sure hope  developers are hard at work trying to fix this cause i for one am a lil upset with customer service taking so long
