As the title says, I've recently bought my GW panther. I've transfered my crew so it's already 90% and I'm having major problems with accuracy. I've heard the accuracy is great, but I'm just not seeing it. I've got the stock gun and I'm wondering if that's the problem. With the hummel, 80% of the shots came short, so I aimed high. With the GW, shots are all over the place. It's getting annoying. I'm doing all the precations, like setting up and flat land and everything, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. If this unpredictable accuracy continues, I'm planning to buy the hummel back. Any experianced GWers wanna spare some tips? I would greatly appreciate it. I'll give some good rep too.
Thx!

i always aim far if putting the reticule on their turret/engine block isn't an option at the time.
And the GW Panther's top gun is anything but inaccurate, its one of the most accurate arty. 261, the most accurate one has .42, gw panther is only .43
And a note on going back to the hummel, the gw panther's stock gun IS the hummel's top gun.
gw panther is everything the hummel is, with the bonus of accuracy, damage, and a turret.

Have a look at a battle i did the other day, might be able to get some good pointers from it, tho u dont see many of my shots land coz of the tactics i use. and also yes the accuracy does play around a little but u get used to it.

I have to agree with the OP. I just bought the GWP myself and transferred my Hummel crew over at 90%. I have only played a few games, but I seem to be missing a huge amount more than I did in my Hummel. The 10% crew skill difference wouldn't seem like it could make that much of a change. Perhaps it does, though. It's the only thing I can think of.
I suggest sticking with the GWP until you get the upgraded gun, though. Only at that point, decide if the GWP works for you.

I don't know if you noticed this, but even minute variations in terrain make a big difference for artys. The GWP's shots mostly land on the lower end of the reticle, so your mid point should be just beyond the tank you are aiming for. Apart from a few maps where you will find your reticle a perfect circle (Malinovka) this is how you should aim....You need to have a fair idea of the terrain where the enemy tank is, for example if the enemy is on higher ground than you, then aim a little beyond the tank and vice versa. Since you have no control over the velocity of the projectile, which is fixed, terrain makes all the difference.

GW P is probablly the best mid-tier arty going. Quick, nimble, hits hard. I've gotten 3 td kills in one game.

I must admit, since having gotten the upgraded gun the accuracy has improved immensely. I don't know what/why it was, but the RNG hated the stock gun and almost always threw the round on the edges of the aiming circle (or beyond). With the upgraded gun, the shot actually usually lands close to where I'm aiming now (and it has nothing to do with crew quality or player skill).
