The title says it all.  Here's a brief example: For "Brothers in Arms" crewskill, the wiki reads:

Quote

This perk increases the training level of the role and non-role-specific  skills of the entire crew by 5. It does not affect role-specific skills  and perks (in-game description is incorrect). There is no benefit  whatsoever if any of the crew do not have this trained to 100%. The perk  stays in effect if a crew member is knocked out during battle. The perk  is cumulative with Improved Ventilation and skill boosting consumables.

Whereas the in-game claims the benefit is lost if any crew member is knocked out.  The wiki even reports that the in-game is incorrect.  I don't know who to believe, and I would like to know before spending hard earned XP on the skill.  Did the same people who made the game make the wiki?  If so, then why the contradiction?

The wiki is written by players in its entirety, the part you refer to was written by myself. The contradiction is there because WG initially wanted the perk to work as in the in-game description, but it is not actually working that way. No guarantees that it will not be fixed in a future patch of course.

Wherever you see an inconsistency between the two, it's because one of us (usually Snib) actually tested it out and found the in-game description to not be 100% correct. In those cases we go with the testing results. Some other cases are because our description is just written more clearly. At this point in time I find our descriptions to be much more accurate than the in-game ones.
