Hi. Im about to get the su85 and was wondrringif the 107mm was even worth the 14k xp with the su100 being only 26k xp. I have a kv with the 107 and its a awesome $ maker. Is tge su85 the same?

its worth it.   you dont have a ton of HP or armor, but you can one-shot many tanks at your tier and lower and you can damage just about anything else you will thrown in with.  really fun and a good earner, but with the 107.  this way it  makes good practice for the Su100 with the D25.

Yes the 107mm with the SU-85 is a great experience

I personally have re-bought the SU-76 with its 57mm gun. If I wasn't cheap and bought another slot, I would have probably re-bought the SU-85 as well. It was a lot of fun. Not sure about the money, it's been a while ago. But the fun factor is there!

Once KV-2 moves to tier 6, SU-85 w/ the 107mm will be the king of tier V in terms of the gun (107).

I did saw tree, not sure if it is actual true or was changing, but KV-2 still is tier 5 but only advance into SPG.

grant if they do make KV-2 tier 6. then Su-85 will be monstrous on field with 107.

I have a JT, Ferdi, T30, and ISU152.  I also have an SU85 and a Marder II.  The Marder II is for fun.  The SU85 is for credits.  I make more on it than I do on a KV.  Plus it helps me think TD.  

It's a keeper, so get the 107.  Totally OMFG p0wning when the top tank is tier 5.....yet can still hit tier 7 tanks reliably, even higher tanks with side shots.

Dev's have changed their mind and decided to push it to tier 6

Ditto on the 107...it is a great TD with it.  Decent number of kills per game, and it always makes credits for me.

I have the SU-85 with 107mm and its a real tank destroyer for its tier. You can two shot KVs and Churchills and mostly every other T5 and lower medium + light. It's gun is still decent enough to penetrate higher tier tanks if you're thrown against them.

Good info. I had the same question myself concerning the gun for SU-85. I have enough free xp to research both 107mm and 122mm. But after reading this thread I will give the 107 a spin and research engine. Another question I had is this TD worth keeping in my garage once I move up to SU-100?

yes, shoes. It is very good money maker beside Preimum tier 8 tanks

The 107 is definitely worth it.  More so when you consider that the SU-100/SU-152 only get a 175 pen gun as their top guns.  Thats only 8 pen higher than your own, and its up to two tiers above you.  The SU-85 is a monster and can deal with just about anything thrown at it.

After over 12,000 battles SU-85 is still my most successful vehicle. Now that I accumulated some credits I can afford buying an extra equipment for it.

I would like to find out which one you recommend?

How is the camo on the SU-85?  Can it be really well hidden like the StugIII?

yes, it can hide all way to 50m. I know because I seen it before when I hide in bush at fishman bay map that is 60m from my base.
