Most matches I walk away with anywhere between 3k and 6k credits after repair and rearm, and this is based off maybe 1 or 2 kills, on a regular account. I consider that to be okay credits actually. Repair costs for it are 1200 max (that I've seen), so all in all it's getting me closer to my target in a hurry

For a while now I've been playing around with a Marder II, trying to get enough free XP to bust past the Hetzer and go to the StuG III, but one thing I noticed off the bat is that it seems to be a great money maker once you get it fully upgraded. The 7.6cm PaK might be a slow firing gun but it packs a big punch.

If you went up a few tiers in the TD tree you would still make money after expenses (much more than you make now, much much more) and still have great gameplay. Just an fyi for you to consider if you were thinking about progressing a few more tiers and was wondering about money issues.

Oh I know
I just want to skip past the Hetzer since it's a slow underpowered pig - just saying that having the Marder in my garage still is like, easy money most of the time. I use it at the moment to farm XP and credits for small upgrades here and there to the rest of the junk in my garage

Jep loving the marder also, from the 7.5 pak onwards it's a total killer, when i first for the pak on it, it looked real cool, when i fired i allmost jizzed my pants the sound effect and the pressure wave it generates is just frigging insane!

MarderII is not a bad TD tank.
But I just unlocked my JagdPanther (the one I was aiming for), and everything is stock still but DAMN this is the best tank I ever got.
Btw you don't have to worry about not making money. Because till Tier V every tank makes easily money.
I use my Tier V (StugIII) for making fast money, always between 10k-20k, credits I speed up my crew with it
MarderII is good if it has a nice fair match (not when heavies are entering)

Oh I don't know, I've personally blasted a KV right out of his socks earlier today, but I think the guy couldn't quite see where I was shooting from. Took a fair bit too, but then again I shoot AP only, not HE - I figure being matched up against higher tiers often it's better to penetrate and do a little damage.
Will see with HE though, maybe makes a difference.

cant agree with u more lol the best gun on marder sounds beast..i just upgraded everything on max on it after buying a hetzer which i was extremely disappointed with...i keep getting alot better tanks matched against my hetzer and its slow as hell...never went faster than like 30 with it...
but with marder i easily go 40 all the time and get everywhere first its awesome.

I love the Marder.
The gun traverse range is great, it punches right through anything in it's usual tier range, it isn't too slow. Good tank. My only Top Gun medal so far, I won in a Marder.

Okay, I've only got to the StuG this far, but I do by FAR love the Marder the most. And by 'FAR' I mean really, really, really, really far. It is has good speed, a good cannon, wide traverse, and most importantly: It actually tends to face tanks it stands a bloody chance against.
In the Marder I usually get to fight tanks I'm meant to fight, and fights are still quite diverse with a good mix of light, medium and maybe even a few (damageable) heavy tanks like Tigers or KV-1s. I get to fight tanks I can hurt. In the Hetzer and StuG it's 90% suicide match-ups where I feel even less useful than worthless (seems like the only option is to use the 10.5cm SturmHaubitze) since the game doesn't seem to take any kind of regard to what the tank is armed with (or armoured with) when matching it against others. StuG vs IS-3. Yay....

Also a Marder II lover, mine is Elite and I'm considering buying some extra stuff for it once I've got the other vehicles I want.
Unless a KV-3 sneaks into a match, I have no trouble damaging anything on the battlefield.

I have a jagdpanther. Long 88 all the engines, its a great TD. But I also went amd bought a marder again because it was so fun. I love it. Need another garage slot, because I want to get the Stug again too.

I have problems with playing the TDs and Marder II in my case. I have Luchs and SU-26 and desided to try the German TDs. So I get a Marder II and I constantly get killed without hitting anything. I am doing something wrong. Give me some advices please.
p.s. I like the sound of the gun though

Hang back, let your friends discover the enemies, and then start shooting. The best cover isn't a shrub, it's having another tank distracting your target. If there's nothing between you and your target, you're in trouble. Don't follow the initial rush of light tanks, unless your team has no medium tanks, since they'll lead you into a chaotic mess. Instead follow the mediums and heavies, and help out there. If you plan on defending the SPGs, find some cover off to the sides, so that the lights don't see you when they rush in; you want the enemy lights to be circling someone else, not you.
Also for the Marder II it's all about the gun. Make sure you get the 7.5cm PaK40 as soon as possible, or even better the 7.62cm PaK36r; either one is way better than the stock 5cm gun. Unlike the SU-76's guns, the PaK40 and PaK36r have good penetration AND good damage, rather than forcing you to choose one or the other.
You can play aggressively sometimes, but best to play cautiously at first. Once your team has the advantage, and their artillery is silenced, you can push ahead and try your luck.

Invest in a camo net, its 100k but you can swtch it between tanks. Hang back, best in a bush, and shoot at range. Don't dogfight, if your at range like 300 they won't see you as easily. You can just demolish them.

Played the Marder 2 with a couple days' worth of matches with only the 5cm pak39 gun. Never used the pak40, cause I'm so poor
But, got the xP for the 7.6cm pak36, had the cash by the time the 36 was unlocked and my reaction upon firing it was a string of delighted cursing and blaspheming. I love this thing so much

I've got 3 tanks in my garage - JagdTiger, Stug and Marder! Most awesome things in WoT!

Gotta say that the MarderII is a sick TD in it's class. The 76mm PaK makes darn near everything up to three tiers up stop and think. First time I used the 76mm instead of the 50mm, the only thing I could think of was the nice new gun sound. After that I noticed that the KV had lost a nice chunk of life. Win-win.
The StuGIII is my current favourite. With the L70 nobody in a tier 8 or 7 really expects much damage from it but with careful positioning and aiming you can slowly grind them down. The best part is chasing Leos and A20s down with my StuG. I think a few of them were a bit surprised to see a my StuG roaring after them and taking them down. Nobody expects a StuG to do anything in a battle with lots of tier 9 and 10 tanks, but if you are sneaky enough, you might manage to take 20% off an IS-4 or -7. Very sweet feeling when you manage to do that. Of course, all to often they notice you and swat you like the little mosquito that you are.
Hetzer... too slow. It is a turtle that really needs to ambush at close range. If it works, you do well. If you miss that first shot, well, you might get a second one, but I wouldn't put money on that.
JagPzIV: my first 88. 'Nuff said.
Currently have a Marder, JagPz and StuG (with 1.1mil in upgrades on it).

Marder with the Soviet gun is better then the Hetzer in every way I think, except the armor/HP , and to be honest the Hetzer doesnt take any damage anyway so that is a dubious advantage.
