Seems 90% of the time i get hit, from any side, I catch fire. Im sure its lower than that but it just seems that way. I catch fire in this tank more than all my other.

Yup, KV-3s often go up like a dry Christmas tree. Their engine hitbox is huge, so it's easy to hit from almost any angle. Take a lot of hits at 15% chance of fire every time, and you're bound to start a couple bonfires.
Are you suggesting it be changed? Since we're in the suggestions forum...
It seems fair that this tank (which is quite strong for tier 6) should have a fatal flaw. But I'm curious if this aspect will be addressed as a tier 7 or not.

yep, pretty much any hit on the back half of the KV-3 will nail the engine; see below (big red thing = engine):

The time I had a KV-3 I really don't recall getting on fire much. Well don't Russian tanks run a fuel that can't catch fire easily? I think diesel fuel makes them a little harder to light on fire. Also firefighting skills and reinforced tank fuel canisters/or were the gas is anyways.

Yeah, diesel gave a slightly lower chance of fire (5% I think). problem is, that huge engine gets hit a lot, when means a lot more chances to start the fire. I don't remember it being particularly bad, but it did seem more prone.

I don't remember it being a huge problem when I was driving a KV-3, but then again I always use manual fire extinguishers without a second thought so it's not as traumatic or memorable when I do get lit up. I do pay attention to how often I light enemies on fire though, and KV-3s are among my more familiar victims.

the main problem is that not only is the engine huge, but the fuel tanks ALWAYS get hit as well, which HUGELY increases your chances to get lit up. if a shot hits both the fuel and engine in the same shot it is almost guaranteed to light you up.

This right here is the main problem. Almost every shot from the side or rear hits either that engine or the fuel, and more times than not for me it hits both. couple that with the fact that the tank is so slow and you have teir 4 and 5 td's and lights setting it on fire all the time. there so fast they can get to your side and get a hit in before you have a chance to get a shot off or move. Then add in the fact that the ammo rack or loader dies with the fire and your a rolling sandbag waiting to happen. i have around 50k left in this tank and im thinking of buring my free xp just to get out of it. a change is needed for the kv3, not a big one. just reduce it catching on fire.

It`s probably, as other people have said, the engine hitbox is huge... but what can you expect from a ~40 liter engine? That`s huge.
