High tier artillery is harder to use. Your opponents have more skill and experience, therefore they're more likely to counter battery you. The guns are also larger, meaning more splash radius which would decimate you a few meters away if they miss. Also, there will also be a lot of high tier scouts looking for you
I find low tier ridiculously easy eg SU-26. The low range means you can camp and just shoot at everything within range without worrying about the other playing trying to counter battery you (either less experience, no range, or like me, just doesn't care and wants to have fun shooting at visible enemies) http://forum.worldof...e_veryhappy.gif

To me, lower tier artillery has always been harder to use, due in part to their shorter range, smaller splash, and higher maneuverability and smaller size of the tanks at those levels.

With the S51 starter gun, you average about 200 damage to an IS4. That's useless in reality. That's the 950 damage gun at tier 6. So tier 5, where the 950 damage gun is the top gun, has a really hard time when thrown in with tier 9 and 10 tanks. They're nearly useless.

I would of said 3-4 is most difficult (although my max is 6 at the moment).
Things just happen so fast and your aim time cant keep up, range tends to be limited.

2-3-4 is the most difficult, for sure. Faster tanks, more maneuverable tanks, tanks that care less about dying, tanks that care less about winning, tanks that often lack any kind of situational awareness, tanks that willingly let the enemy scouts through because they have a personal vendetta with arty.
Aside from all that, you have limited range, ammo, sometimes damage, and other factors that will of course vary from SPG to SPG.

for those who say tier 5 is difficult- go play a hummel. and pick the higher-damage HE round on that second gun.
4-6 are probably the easiest, as you gain that full map range, and still have decent accuracy and reload.
7 and 8 you start dropping off in terms of acc and reload, though your damage output increases. as well as shell cost.
1-3 are short-ranged, low damage, fast RoF. good for stationary meds and early heavies, USELESS past tier 6 or so due to the poor damage.

Schooling is apparently harder.
On a serious note, lower tier arty owns.

Definitely high end arty. Yes, it will do tremendous damage but reload time is like a day and a half.
The mid ranges are the best. They have decent damage and range with faster reload and better maneuverability than the big boys.
Will I give up my GW Tiger? No, but it is the GW Panther that I play for fun.

Tier VII and VIII are probably the hardest and most excrutiating to use. Tier V and VI are the most fun.

Artillery is not difficult. Apparently, spelling the word is for you.

4-5 is the worse arty, in those tier you have the worst of the worst in arty: inaccurate gun, low damage, low splash, low rof, and even low number of ammo. 2-3 are generally good (SU-26 any one ?) And from 6 to 8 you just have some of the best arty around.

Low tier SPGs usually become unarmored TDs. Usually the scouts don't have good radio range and you're up against small fast opponents. High tier tankers are always complaining about getting killed while "zig-zagging" to avoid arty fire. They don't realize that arty begins by killing loltraktors moving at high speed. Hitting a Maus "zig-zagging" across an open field isn't that big of a stretch.
VII & VIII are great at getting kills. However, you need someone to screen for you or you're just going to end up with a ridiculously high repair bill. They are also laughingly inaccurate (2,100 silver per round isn't so laughable though).
Tier VI is probably the most fun you can have as an arty. I love the GW Panther. Pretty accurate and good range. The traverse range for the gun makes it great for aiming. Plus, the speed and re-load time can make it a formidable TD (until the other guy gets his first round off). I've survived scout rushes in the Panther, where other vehicles, I haven't.

Let me tell you a secret.
That doesn't really change when you get to the top tiers.
