Hate to add fuel to the fire, but WoT's "HD" tank remodels are still worse than WT's graphics on medium settings, while at the same time running twice as slow as WT's high graphics setting. And let's keep in mind that WT maps are not only more detailed on the ground, but also have more complex models, larger maps, more targets (that are, or will be, also as equally-detailed as player-controlled models) to shoot at, and just flat out have more content than any map WoT has to offer.

It's been said countless times, and I don't know why it hasn't already happened, but WG seriously needs to step away from the increasingly obsolete BigWorld engine and find something more fitting for today's technology. At the very least, an engine with multi-core functionality because that is the norm. WoT's engine is one of the single largest factors that slows this game down, both in the short run and the long run.

Oddly enough, with the deplorable state that WT is in right now due to... questionable balancing and a lack of apparent effort to fix it, I'm here instead of there. And to think I originally left WoT for the exact same reason... the irony is suffocating.

But, this isn't the right thread to argue about these two games. Even though I've already given my two cents about it. :veryhappy:

To be fair the original Big World engine has long been exchanged for a new one specialised for the game.

(The original engine was an MMORPG engine...)

Graphics wise WT is Crysis and WoT is BF1942.

Seriously... look at the Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942 and compare it to WoT's graphics.

Forgotten Hope has vehicles with the graphical quality between WoT's non-HD and HD models... ... that's... pretty... bad...

Gameplay wise WoT is way superior, partly due to WT being in an early stage and mostly because Gaijin is a bunch of.... "special" people.

They seem intend on re-doing the same mistakes Wargaming made in the first place instead of learning from ther belarussian mates.

"Let's put the Panther II against T-54s and IS-4, clearly no other game has proven yet that this just doesn't work!"

Except when the Panther II was a tier IX medium in WoT and the IS-4 was a tier IX heavy... but hey...

On another note:

I'm still waiting for Gaijin to finish easily skinnable tank skins the same way the plane skins work.

In the meantime I made a quick StuG III Ausf. G skin (Hurr durr I added a 3 decals because Wehrmacht Grau master race) for one of the VNs

that is currently being made.

90-120 when I'm not using Fraps or Twitch and don't play around in other games in the background.

60-70 when doing one of the above and 30-40 on Windstorm, no idea why only on that map.

Then again I have a feeling 80% of your fps in WoT has to do with the system you're running and how well WoT is optimised for it.

I can run Fraps in WT and keep the fps between 120-200 (Not that I can optically see a difference above 60), but in WoT it makes the game go nuts.

My computer is a quad core, and we all know that WoT is not optimized for multicore computers.

even knowing that the Havok physics addon is gonna be its own core is NOT gonna solve the issue that the BigWorld engine is crapfor optimization, even if they are developing it themselves now

Ok, so, found out that they have once again done renaming on files for skins, no more _AM on files.  So if your skin broke, and it has _AM in the file name, delete the _AM and it will work once again.  Except the Centurion Mk 7/1, that one still uses _AM.  Possibly the other HD model tanks use _AM, but I did not check.

Also, they totally reworked the M8A1 format, so old skins for that tank will not work anymore.

So, I've once again looked over the tanks to see which need an anime skin, and the tanks that are missing skins are:

M8A1

T23E3

Pz IV Ausf A

Pz IV Ausf D

StuG III Ausf B

StuG III Ausf G

Pz IV Hydrostat

Hummel

T-60

T-70

Su-5

SU-100

IS

Vickers Medium Mk I
Vickers Medium Mk II

Cruiser Mk I

Vickers Medium Mk III

Loyd Gun Carriage

Churchill I

AT 15

Tortoise

T-26

AT-1

T-64

Valentine II

I'd also want a better anime skin for the Sturmpanzer I Bison.

If you guys know of any updated/new skins for any of the above, let me know.
