so when the Kv  goes through mitosis in 7.3 do you think the new Kv1 will earn the same as the old kv?

The KV isn't getting the 107 or the 152 so probably not.

*facepalm* no, you get a kv-2 fully upgraded and a kv-1 stock with a 100% crew

But will the KV-1 only have the stock gun or other guns to upgrade to?

I don't know the KV-1's research tree since it hasn't gone to public test yet. I know for sure it will be stock when u get it and yes you can upgrade its guns, just not to the 107 or 152.

The switch promises to be an overall firepower downgrade at Tier 5 (the KV-2 with the 107 and the 152 will become a Tier 6 tank). The BDR-G1B looks to be the big gun of Tier 5 after the switch. What I want to know is if this means Tier 5 heavies will no longer get matched into Tier 9 games, or will they just get roflstomped even harder since the 107 and 152 will no longer be available to fight back with.

Considering the Russian announcement, it'll have the famous 57mm ZiS-4.

Most likely not, since it wont have the 152 or the 107 to deal the amount of damage it deals now. Some people say it will get the 85mm F-30 or something along those lines, wich is a much, much more tier 5 heavy appropiate gun.

KV-2 might be the new money maker, but since its going to be tier 6, its a though call.

Mitosis is where the cells split identically

Meiosis is where they split and are different.

Since the KV will split into the KV-1 with the small turret, and the KV-2 with the large turret, they are not identical, and therefore the process cannot be referred to as "mitosis" of the KV, rather is it much more alike to meiosis.
