After playing this game for some 13,000 rounds, I am left with the feeling that most of the time I don't even have fun playing.

MOST rounds I am playing only cuz i hit the battle button and now i feel i have to finish what i started...

MOST rounds i start and instantly wish there was an undo for the battle button...

MOST rounds i see right away that the teams are hella unbalanced or that the map is crap or that there are 7 arty on each side, so only the scouts and them will have fun,

or my team starts bitching right away, or my whole team lemmings in one direction,

or whatever,

choose your own gripe,

everyone has things that they dislike more than others.

When things do go right, this game can be incredibly fun...

i just find that those times seem to be in the decline.

SO...

i made a poll.

I am curious,

if you are truly honest with yourself,

how often do you ACTUALLY have fun playing this game?

If you're already not having fun when the counter hasn't even finished counting down it's pretty obvious you should give the game a rest. Just another case of burnout.

1/2 of the games

I'm generally having fun even if I'm in the bottom as long as I don't get one shot asap.

I find that it all depends when i'm playing if i have fun or not because that also affects the MM because of the amount of players online. But if i start getting frustrated i just hop in one of my premiums i just bought on sale http://forum.worldof...ile-playing.gif MM loves the premiums http://forum.worldof...mile-tongue.gif

It was more fun when I could trust at least half my team to hold the line on average.

7/10 for me. I'm a student, life has been busy as hell lately and increasingly stressful. This is a nice escape for me and a heck of a lot more fun than my propaganda minister of a prof or memorising cytokines/receptor signalling pathways.

As someone else said, 13,000 is a lot, might be the point of burnt out. Take a few weeks off, nothing is good in massive doses.

I guess you are going to get a lot of advice about where the uninstall button is, but I get where you are coming from.  The really great games where you stay right to the end regardless of when you died seem to make up a really small % overall.  I am seeing so many really one sided games now, within 2 mins the outcome is often decided and whether that is mm, "smart" team vs "dumb" team, nature of the maps or some other variables it does take a bit away from the overall enjoyment of WoT.  I've been a fairly regular critic of mm since 7.1 and do believe tighter matchmaking would make for more close & exciting & therefore fun games.

Regardless of your point of view, this will be an interesting thread to watch.

the people who voted 10 out of 10....

we must have VERY different ideas of what it means to have fun.

Add "when drunk" as a choice.

MM isn't an issue any more. Only time i dread the match is on certain maps.
These, it doesn't matter what tier I'm in or how close to the bottom or top. it's no fun.

Blasting tanks with tanks? That is why I play this game, it is not like someone forces me to, when I do not want to play or got bored for a day, I just do something else, otherwise, I have fun all the time I play, thats why I play after all.

Perhaps, but it seems like "playing a game" should be the definition of fun. So 10/10 should be the norm.

Maybe people have very different ideas of what "playing a game" means.

If playing a game = fun, and for you playing a game <> fun, then the obvious solution is don't play that game.

There's also the issue of "how fun". Games are like sex, even when it's not fun, it's fun.

Ptwr, that deserves a +1 because I feel like that too.   My vote btw was for 9 out of 10 games.  And that was only because some rounds begin with the whining and bickering of players who feel the upcoming round wasn't tailor made for their pleasure.  For me, i see the battle and play it.  I may be good (15% of the time) or I may suck (at least 40% of the time) or just be having a routine round, but all in all, it's good enough fun that even a loss can be enjoyable if the effort was there.

i don't mean the "well i am playing a video game, therefore i must be having fun"

i mean, if you critically think about how each game makes you feel,

how often do you really derive satisfaction and come away feeling better than when you started the match?

Maybe for you, that is every single game...

i just feel like we must be playing different games if that is the case.

Im not lying when I say 10/10 games I have fun. Its not necessarily the team matchup, or the dumb-smart lineup, or one side has more heavies or not. Its the thrill of the fight for me. That jumpy, excited tingly feeling in my fingers as I unload shells into an enemy tanks, that chilling, spinetingling fear as you realize a tank much stronger than you is scoping its barrel on you...Its a game. It doesnt have to be ranted on, it doesnt have to be a bore. The thrill of combat in this situation; no think about it..Your in command of a virtual reality scenario where you are in control of one of the many armored war vehicles in the world, metal destroyers with massive cannons and guns mounted onto a 360 revolving turret slicked over with steel plating, pumping massive foot long/thick metal torpedos filled with explosive material into the enemy. Think about that. Take a break from WoT for a week or so, come back, think about that, and jump back into the game. But I certainly DO understand how you feel. Like most will say, its a common case of pure burnout. The 'same old same old' feeling can creep in after lengths of playing any game, really, and taking a break and reconsidering the games mechanics in their own respect can really help that. All the best to you, hope you begin to re-enjoy WoT, and happy pwning.
