I came across this tank while riding a motorcyle points rally last week.  It is placed as a tribute to war veterans in the town park of Overton, Nevada, USA.  I was thrilled to see a real one, in good condition, up close and personal.  It was smaller than I imagined it would be.  I would have loved to get inside, but alas, the hatches and access doors, even view ports were all welded solidly shut.

So....what is it?      :)

Thanks for Tanks

Chaffee is very close guys, good guesses, but it is actually an M41 walker Bulldog. the Walker replaced the chaffee, very similar tanks in appearance.

Wow!  A Bulldog, really?  I had heard the name before but didn't know anything about them.  Guess I'll Google it and learn some more.  PS, I have some more shots of this one, from side and rear.  If anyone wants I'll downsize the files and post 'em here, too.

I know of another tank not too far away, on display the same as this one.  Guess I'll try to get there and photo / post that one too.

Any one else know of tanks or other military equipment on memorial display?  For some odd reason, here in the desert west, there are lots of old naval guns in cemetaries around here, and a few jet fighters from 50's and 60's.  Surprisingly, even though Tooele Army Depot, just west of Salt Lake City, was a tank repair facility for many years, Army tanks are pretty rare around here.   :Smile_great:

Thanks for Tank
