Some T-50-2s are definetly bots :P , it's really hard to tell since most people just:

1.aim at the enemy base
2.drive!
I seen these type of players very often.

Well, having seen a couple of tanks do a fairly simple repeated pattern on diffrent maps, I can say yes there are bots. I have ghosted on one after I got torched and watched and timed it.... it was a simple move direction X for time Y, rotate Z degrees, repeat pattern, went on till the tank was destroyed by the converging enemy forces. I always report them with a replay. If I spot any new ones on this patch I'll post one here.

Well, I can't think of any other reason for the E-100 I saw charge into the middle of Malinovka with its turret perfectly backwards. I mean I suppose it could have just been someone who hated the map, but most people I would think would make a suicidal charge that involved trying to shoot the enemy before the inevitable happened.

The amount of woeful Lowe and KV5 players out there makes you think credit-grinding bots are indeed being used. Surely those players can't ALL be bad....

Those are not bots, that's me!
In fact maybe I'm a bot? Now, that would rearly be weird.

Actully in the event of a full blown dc due to a computer crash sometimes  when moving your turret will spin around and your tank will keep going in the same direction

Had this happen to me a few times so i can speak from experince

I've had the same - by the time I managed to log back into the game my tank was dead, no surprise there. PzIII/IV on Karelia.

I've seen some odd behavior, to be quite sure.

A tank sitting idle on the cap when an ally rolls in.  Ally starts shooting the tank, which then turns and shoots back, killing the ally... then sits there with the gun trained on the wreck and does nothing until I get there and start shooting.  Tank doesn't move, just swings its turret at me while I go in circles around it and finish it off.  I can't even see the most noobish person behaving like that... they would at least try to get their vehicle moving in some way.

I may have seen one yesterday.  I wish I had screen shot it.  Was a VK.  It fired one round as soon as the timer hit zero and reversed to the impassable hill behind the base and ground tracks rest of the game.

Depending upon the skill of the person programing. Bots can be pretty complex and do plenty of things. They got rather complex and high tech in FFXI I can see them here easy and being able to do more than just run into walls. If there is nearly free money to be made then we will have bots.

Unlike all the hack claims, i think it's a lot more likely that some players started using bots to grind more credits. Months ago, the bots were merely just driving into walls or shooting at random, but recently i've seen some strange play that leave me to believe there might be some more advanced versions running around. For example i seen some tanks trying to pass through impassable obstacles to get to enemies on the other side, some others trying to shoot through buildings repeatedly or attack enemies their gun depression made them miss without trying to correct their aim or find a better angle on them or simply, just random cruising around the map and shooting at what is showing up regardless of what is going on the map (like being capped or everyone else getting killed). Sure, this can be explained by truly noobish play, but that's what i would expect from a rudimentary AI attempting to drive a WOT tank around.

Do you believe such bots are in use?

/OT

My 3yr old doesn't use a high chair anymore and loves playing WoT. He is now bored with winning against the bots on StarWars battlefront and Battlefield 1942, so he decided he would use my WoT account.

Stupid me left the password saved and came back one night from work to find out he had used 10k of my gold to buy all the prem tanks he could afford and paint them nice camo colours multiple times.

He got his own account immediately, while I went to get a beer to drown my sorrows.

He is doing quite well with his T1 and 2s, but definately looks like a bot to any others watching him.

I'm not a big believer in bots being present in WOT but after a match yesterday I have changed my mind.  We noticed prior to the game that the team was totally noob.  We decide not to run a strat and allowed everyone to do whatever they wanted.

I drove srtaight for their base and found a T32 covering their base sitting behind a rock.  I drove around him in my 1390 shot him once  but he never acknowledged I was there but turned toward our other tanks approaching the base.  I am next to him now and fire another round.  Still doesn't acknowledge I'm there shooting him.  He decide to move toward our tanks where I shoot him again.  He still doesn't even turn to see who's hitting him. and stops.  Still facing the tanks coming in I shoot him and kill him.  Not once did he turn to look at me even though I was right next to him.

I've seen some really dumb players before but nothing like this.

It wasn't spinning, just fixed perfectly backwards. It was either a suicidal moron (which isn't surprising since it was Malinovka, but I can't really imagine someone suiciding a Tier X tank that has two or three tiers on ~80% of our team and huge repair costs) or a bot, I'm pretty well convinced. It might have stopped in the middle, I'm not sure, I was too busy trying to hurt it for the exp and credits.

Also, I've DC'd plenty myself, and the tank does usually keep going in one direction.

Light tank suicides might as well be bots.  Putting the T-50-2 in full forward and walking off in Campanovka is sad.

I second that, I have recieved some pretty decent coin for for zipping around the whole game annoying and killing tanks.  The T-50-2 maxed out is a great little tank.  I wish I videoed it but one match I had 6 (yes 6) tanks chasing me.  I needed Benny Hill music for that one.

For the OP's topic this is the strangeness that I have seen over the past few months:  Game starts, tank pulls out and moves to a spot and stops.  Their turret "twitches" or sometimes swings back and forth.  They get shot but don't react.   I have had my client die before (real annoying), but on getting back in the game my tank is pretty much sitting where I left it, turret still pointing where I left it.  So go figure, don't know whats going on with these tanks (bot or not).

Actually, your tank and turret just stop.  A full dead stop.  Unless Cruise control (R or F) is going, then just the turret stops.  Left and right steering stop too.

I got a replay of my hellcat running from a pair of amx 13 90s on ruinberg.  they were all that were left and platooned, against half my team.  Apparantly they thought i'd be an easy kill.  Que the benny hill music for a one minute run through the city in ruinberg while the two try to catch me.  I start the chase at ~400 health and end at ~100 (only took one good hit from one).  They didn't get me, not for lack of trying.  My platoon was all dead but they were cheering me on while the rest of my team capped.  I think a few enemies were saying 'RUN FORREST RUN!' as i rocket away from the pair.

I have seen few "Bots" and don't think it is a problem, BUT, the REAL problem is the Load-N-Leave players. The player who loads into battle, then "Exits" then puts another tank into battle and repeats.... I have seen entire platoons do this, and this is a problem that can only be fixed by bringing back the exploding tanks. In reality a bot would be more useful then a Load-N-Leave since it's at least drivin around spotting :Smile-izmena:

Types of bots I've seen

-the common "sits around and does nothing" some are probably just afkers too

-fires randomly

-drives forward into nothing, or perpetually turning.  Some firing nonstop.

The rarest I'd seen is one that I know was a bot, the user never responded to anyone.  It never moved from its spawn location
and yet it would turn the gun side to side until it was able to lock onto an enemy.  Likely it was using the game's own autoaimer.  I haven't seen any of these recently, so I'm betting WG did something about them.

I fight lag when a lag spike hit my tank does the weirdest   thing mostly it takes a 90 to the right but it had it jumped off cliffs, ( was stick after) drive into building  drive though indestructible building ....  spin in circles  you name it.  so it could be just lag
