This week, I was able to get in touch with barney69 and his clan OTOG and why were delighted to be the next spotlighted clan. They seem to be very self aware to what their goals are and what needs to be done to get their. One thing I saw is their willingness to allow people that feel they can do a task and give them their chance to shine. I have heard from some of my friends in these larger clans that they have certain people to do those tasks and the others, though may be good at doing something, they really don't get the chance to show that off, and that is one trait of this clan that to me speaks above most other things I have heard from other clans. To me, some clans may be able to learn something from this clan.
Q: Please tell us about your Clan. What brought your group together?
A: Our clan is from Philippines, specifically Cebu. We have created OTOG clan in order to cater each Cebuano's to have a clan and would be easy for us to communicate each other since we have the same clan.
Q: How long have you been formed?
A: OTOG clan was oroginally formed on january 7, 2012.
Q: Is there a particular history or story behind your Clan name?
A: Every Cebuano's believes that in order to accomplish something, we must act as one (One Target One Goal). If we have the same Vision then no matter how difficult it is, we could achieved it with the help of each member of the clan. Like a puzzle, you can never assemble the picture if one piece is missing. Just like OTOG clan, each member plays a vital role in accomplishing our Goals.
Q: What insight or philosophy is the driving force behind your union? In other words, what motivates your members, what instills that esprit de’ corps so many clans seek?
A: Everybody can do better. OTOG clan is welcome to all specially to Filipinos. One way on how we motivate our players is that we always tell to them that if you want to make history better do it now. Like the question, If you will not do it now then WHEN, and if you will not do it then WHO... We as the leaders of OTOG clan wants that all players must be able to express themselves in game especially leadership skills and tactical strategy.
Q: What leadership/management style can you share that has helped [OTOG] stay together as a vibrant and active Clan?
A: One important aspect in order to maintain such a big group is being open minded and respect. Even the commander as well as the deputy commander, we are always open for suggestions regarding for the future of the clan. Everybody can be leaders, with that each member is given the right to have his commands in order for us leaders to know that he is good in making up strategy. We can never know the capacity of a person until we put him in the spotlight.
Q: Many Clans play other games together as well, all for a variety of reasons. What brought your Clan specifically into WoT? What, if anything, would encourage [OTOG]'s continued gaming and expansion within WoT?
A: Our main reason why we established OTOG clan in this game is for fun and to cater the needs of each Cebuano players. We are ready to train them to become good players. First is that it encourages us to play WoT (World of Tanks) compared to other games is that WoT has no bugged in it, and if ever there is, they makes moves right away for the benefit of all the players, Second is the events, with this, people are encouraged to participate and never get bored.
Q: What can we expect to see from [OTOG] in the future?
A: We expect 3 things
- a well organized clan
- to become a role model clan in the game
- a well respected clan
Q: What are your basic requirements for application and membership in [OTOG]? Is there anything specific you look for in an applicant?
A: - Filipino
- must know how to speak Visayan language
- open minded, ready to express and share his ideas for the clan
Q: What council or advice would you offer those new to WoT? And the more experienced?
A: To have lots of patience in grinding there tanks and listen to fellow players.
Q: Since the release of Clan Warfare, how has it impacted/affected your Clan?
A: It does not really affects much.
Q: How has the most recent clan wars update affected your clan?
A: It had become for fun, challenging and interesting to play. Knowing we can't see the line-up of the enemy tanks until detected.
Q: (For [OTOG] members) How has the release of CW Beta impacted you and your game play and/or style, ie; time, focus, team-play, etc?
A: To be more wise, and improve our strategy since we cant see the line up of the enemy. We give more time in Clan Trainings in each member, because we want all of the members to be ready in the call of war.
Q: (For [OTOG] members) Back when your clan was doing CW, what suggestions would you offer to other tankers and Clans in the Beta?
A: Give chance to the newly created clans to participate clan war and avoid discrimination.
