I find it quite distracting having them spam around in the forums, However they are taken care of swiftly by the forum mods.
It's quite easy to prevent 90% of this spam however... Make the forum check the number of battles one has played using that account, and allow people to only be able to post after x battles. Not only would it reduce spam, but limit the amount of modding the forum mods have to do as-well. I do realize one can work around this, but obviously it would take more effort and it's not as easy as an automated script.

Cannot do that as people that are legit new players would not be able to ask questions until they have played a fight....and one of those questions could be a "how do I...." type that gets WoT running on their PC.
I do not know what the answer is,but locking-out potential new players from the forums may not be the best idea.

They should make the Catchpha bit harder, along with add maybe some basic math into the catchpha..
Ie - Word catchpha and after that a math cathcpha.
Would stop the bots at least.

I think how fast the gold spam posts get deleted should be an example to a lot of other forums out there.

It is a pretty simple idea and you could have a special subforum for newbies questions. That way the mods only have one place they have to keep a real close eye and the noobs can still get help

Have new players that send a burst of posts flagged and have mod notified. Maybe in place.

And maybe limit posts by those who have large negative reputations as they tend to be trolls anyway.
