one thing to note that the KT stock tracks can support the top engine and radio
AND also all equipments needed (Vents Rammer Stab)

thats why i now have a fully equipped Stock KT

get the turret upgrade ASAP (you need tracks for that)
this makes you a REAL KING TIGER

Quote

I suggest getting the better turret ASAP. Its much better armored and gives you a RoF increase. The impenetrable mantlet (that also takes 1/3 of the turret front) can be combined with turret sloping after each shot in order to bounce the enemies's counter. Do keep in mind the commander's cupola is a weak spot that can be exploited in CQC by the enemy.

Just another voice adding to the chorus of "Tracks, then Turret, then guns".  Until you upgrade the turret, it's a big weak spot (100mm armour vs 185mm for the second).

Whenever people seek advice on kt its always - snipe with it

The long 105 is a nice gun

I still read into the fact that unlike most other tanks you can mount the best gun on the stock turret as a hint that is the way to go if you are like me and want to snipe and think Offence > Defence for priority of upgrades

The only problem with this is that, in a Tier 8 or even 9 game, you will be expected to take the lead, no matter how much you would like/(tell people) that KT is better suited as a sniper.

I can see how you would get a pass as a sniper in a Tier 10 game, but, even in a Tier 9 game, you will be expected to offer close support to the Tier 9s. Oh, and lets not mention what a clusterf**k it can become if your only top Tier 9 is a French :)

stick with 2-3 mediums or a tier 9 of some sort. doing that tactic if you have the 105/L68 use it to cripple smaller tanks and let the mediums finish them, focus on any other heavy tanks your group encounters.
most games I roll away with 1.2-2k exp and 28-60k silver  :Smile_great:

Out brawled a Stock KT in my elite KV-3. The only goshdarn reason I creamed was because he facehugged me with while he had the weaker turret.

i went
tracks > turret > short 10.5 > long 10.5 > e75
When i got the kt, the first thing i noticed that i needed was a better turret. I already had the radio and engines from the tiger 1, and the engines helped alot! I got the tracks, didnt notice a huge difference, then got the turret. Big difference. It has better armor, increased reload speed, just a better overall turret. When i got the short 10.5, i was hesitant to use it. It is very expensive to use, but with its better alpha damage, i thought it would be better for xp towards the long 10.5. it actually was that bad of a gun. Once you get the long 10.5, the tank is really awesome. I currently have a rammer and camo net on my kt, put binocs on it occasionally. When your getting the xp for the e75, its not a grind. Its just you playing battles, then one day having enough for the e75.

I thought it was just me that thought that it was a pretty easy grind... the only thing I had trouble with was the credits... <_<

credits doesn't matter when buying modules, just when you need to buy the next tier tank.
(im a no-premium player)

i am not earning much in my fully equipped stock KT, however, im just having fun in it
i dont find it a grind. im having fun indeed

if i want credits, i would find them from my beloved GwP

My inital re-equipping on purchase went as follows:-

Top Radio - researched this way back in T5 or 6 so been available to all my tanks from that point on.
Top Engine - reseached in Tiger 1 H, this carries over to a huge part of the German tree to easy to justify at the first possible time.

So a slightly modified stock tank.

Then order of research:-

1) Tracks, at higher teirs you seem to need the upgraded tracks in order to mount any other equipment (even rammers etc at times)
2) short 105 - higher alpha is better for minimal loss of pen - 3mm - and fairly marginal loss of RoF.
3) turret - better protection, slower traverse, but that should not be an issue.
4) long 105.

You need the tracks to upgrade the gun from stock so presumably the same also for the turret (found this out the hard way).

ya tracks is correct, but the short 105 is not that sustainable
high cost rounds 1000 credits per shot!!
long 88 is more sustainable

i would get the turret first and guns later

Yep, still have loads of money to grind out for a lot a tanks lines. I have an e-75, kv4, IS, Jagdpz 4, and m6 to grind out creds for. Hard when your trying not to use real money. Ill try to get some gold this weekend for the ANZAC thing. 33% goes to charity, and i get an extra 10% gold. Ill defanatly use it for a tier 8 premium, and some garage slots for tier 5 tanks. May even need it for crew space, as ill be getting a few 100% crew with 7.3

Comes down to play style. If you get turret first you get to sit and take abuse hulldown, but fire a weak gun. If you get gun first you sit back, focus on not getting hit between your reloads. Anyone that knows about the tiger line, when they see the stock turret, everyone aims for it. It's super easy to pen that turret anywhere you want to shoot it.
