When I saw KV3 going UP a tier, that had me seriously confused. Even fully upgraded, it was barely able to hold its own against other tier 6 tanks, much less higher teirs. If anything I would have though the KV-3 needed to move down to tier 5 keeping its stats and still be a mediocre tank at best.

Now playing it in the game, my fears were confirmed. They gave it a slightly upgraded 122mm (D-2-5T to D-25T? Really?), but the armor is just as bad as before meaning 2 or 3 decent shots from a tier 5 kills the now tier 7 KV3. The people that have figured this out are now camping WAY back instead of using them as a heavy tanks purpose: a front lines tank.

Otherwise, KV1 is more like a slow Medium, KV2 is same as KV, both are slow bulky and mediocre, but make good roadblocks when they die.

Also i believe that the KV-5 needs to go up to tier 9, or at least more weight in MM towards higher tiers. With all the changes, KV5 is just too tough for its own tier (I am sure the prem buyers will disagree since they want to keep it tier 8 and too tough).

Are you SERIOUS?! In 7.2 live server, a fellow KV3 and I (i was a kv3 too), we were able to hold off three Tier 7's (T29, IS, TigerP), 2 Tier 6 (VK3601, Jpanzer4), and a Tier 5 (PZ 4) on Live Oaks in the Northwest portion of the map. Saying its "BARELY" able to hold its own against contemporary tanks is a serious understatement...

P.S. we both died in that battle but were able to hold them off long enough for our team to cap.

KV-3 to begin with had more armor than most t7's as a t6, now with the fast d-25t, 850 hp engine, and alot more hp this thing slays people. Its honestly like a t29 with a very low profile.

After reading this and doing in-depth analysis, i can conclude you must be one of the biggest idiots ive ever seen in life.

If you think the KV-3 sucks at its current tier, then you obviously never played the tank at all, and have no proof to back up literally anything you say.

And KV-5 needs to be moved up a tier? Are you high? Seriously, if you think that Wargaming should change the KV-5's MM values or teirs, then you should just never play WoT.

You dissapoint me sir. -____-

GUYS GUYS GUYS!

Chill out, he's not trolling.

He just sucks at it(39% win rate). Performance is 10% under global average, so really the OP's post is invalid

wha..  what?  i wanna know what you are smokin because i want some..  err..  probably not..  since you are obviously experiencing brain damage..  the KV-3 was the BEST tier 6 heavy..  makes a decent tier 7..   and the KV-5 is HORRIBLE...  sad part is, the KV-4 is just as bad.

Your Kv-5 advice is just so wrong.

Onto KV-3, it is so OP, in good tank companies its the only heavy you are allowed to drive.  Okay, maybe 1-2 ARL...

the KV and KV-3 are by far the most overpowered tank relative to its tier in the entire game.

the KV has ridiculous armor for  tier 5 heavy. Every other tier 5 heavy has what a tier 5 should have. The KV is one of only two battle tanks/TDs in the entire game that can one shot ANY other of its own tier AND ABOVE. People who suggest circling it are completely ignorant. Have you ever TRIED circling a half-competent KV driver in say an M4 Sherman or PZ III/IV. EVEN if you penn most of your shots, it takes about 5-7 shots to take him down. none of the guns available fire fast enough to compensate for the fact that the KV can ONE shot you. Not to mention the fact that most of your shots DO bounce. the funny thing is, ive found the KV to have so much armor that the 105mm on the sherman does the same damage to the KV than it does to a tier 7, about 150 per shot. With the M1a1, you should expect to bounce ALOT of your shots.

The 152mm is the single most powerful howitzer for its tier in the game. It is, in all reality, a tier 5 artillery weapon. it is, afaik, the most powerful howitzer available to any battle tank in the game. Couple that with the fact that the KV has outstanding armor for a tier 5 and you have the most overpowered tank in the game for its tier.

Then we have the KV-3. Also with the best tier 6 armor in the game. Heavily armored on ALL sides. Then theres the 107mm, which was also a HUGELY overpowered gun for the KV, giving it RIDICULOUS penetration with RIDICULOUS DPS, and it still performs with OUTSTANDING performance on the KV-3. the KV-3 also has access to the 122mm, an even more grossly overpowered gun for a tier 6, best DPS and best Penn over any other tier 6. by a HUGE margin, no less.

MEANWHILE, the Jumbo sherman gets a tier 5gun that turns the tank into an expensive roadblock. I agree that if it were to get a gun upgrade, it would need some dubbing down on the armor. But its still such a terrible gun for a tier 6. The germans and Americans COMPLETELY get the shaft from tier 4 to 8(excluding perhaps the Sherman and PZ IV, two decent tanks), the french get the shaft from tier 1-4, and the russians, well the russians never get the shaft, all of their tanks are excellent. And its ridiculous.

And you have complaints about it gettting shuttled up to tier 7? oh my god. i cant express how hard i facepalmed. I honestly cant.

The fact that the KV-3 gets to keep its 107mm at T7 will make it a good earner for both premium and non-premiums.  The small loss in pen on the ZiS-6 over the D-25T is made up for by each shot costing 755c less.

The IS is forced to use the D10T as the "smart budget" option and loses 70 points in alpha because of it.

the ARL44 gets a 200+ penetration, has an amazing armor (the 120mm highly sloped armor is almost impenetrable with the 107 or the 122mm gun) and its a tier6

but u are right, the kv was OP for tier 5 and the kv3 was the best tier6 tank (but because you constantly face tier9-10s the excelent armor in tier6 battles is just useless, and with the poor movility is just worst than the m6 in these battles), and thats why they fixed them.

Haven't played it at tier 7 but as tier 6 it was a beast I laughed my ass off when ever kvs tried to derp me point blank. It was best tier six heavy.
