I'm thinking about getting a rammer for mine although it is quite expensive.

In context of this thread- people go out expecting to have some fun, gun duels with similar tank tiers, etc. And instead, BAM! one-shotted by a glorified mortar.

After 300 battles I only remember one person raging at me and oddly enough it was another derp KV.

Why does your score screen say "Got Hit" instead of "Hits received"??

No it can one shot fellow KVs with a well placed shot.

I've never liked the derpcannon. I've found I like the 107 better. A KV the other day found out the hard way how deadly the 107mm is to other tier 5s. He came charging around the corner, fired at me on the move, missed by outhouse turret by miles. And stopped. 107's first shot dropped him to 39%, second shot finished him.

Edit: Oh wow, didn't even notice this was 7 pages.

roll along at a snails pace, kill a few light tank rushers or half dead mediums then get sniped to death by a td parked half the map away.

yep, you totally trolled them by under-performing in a kv when you could have a 107mm on it instead.

but i guess anyone who considers this trolling is really just doing a "selfpwn"(to borrow a term from the drudge) because by using such terms they demonstrate that they lack the cognitive functions which facilitate proper communication. you know, the type that requires using actual words.

*cue verbal diarrhea from rubes who don't realize i'm using the same category of slangs for comical emphasis*

I don't really know why people consider the derp gun to be fun. In beta I got it on the way to the 107. That was the most stressfull gun ever. Mostly because of the reload and accuracy. It's only fun if your layed back and dont't really care how you do. I spent my whole time in it obsessing over every single shot i took, since every shot was that much more important when you had to wait half a life time for that next one. That gun has horrible accuracy, preventing you from sniping, which would be ideal. And slow reload, so that when you do close in, you basically fire on shot and then get hammered, 22 seconds is a long time, even with the rammer. And god help you if you miss. Also if you use armor penetrating shots for the 700 dmg, you will bounce a lot. If you use HE you do 450 dmg, compared to the 300 dmg of the 107. The derp is only useful on the IS-3s and even then, I mean 107 can use HE too, and in one minute does a bit more dmg than HE with 152, plus once you get to their sides you can easily switch to ap and blast at 300 dmg, eclipsing the 152. In low tier battles it just silly, the 152mm with HE will take out a kv in 2 shots, but so will the 107mm, without HE theres high chance of bounce. With my 107 KV 90% of battles ended with me beating a 152. First case: the 152 misses completely cuz of bad accuracy and I kill the KV while he reloads, lol always a fun one. Seconds Case: He uses HE takes 450 dmg from me, I kill him. Third case: He uses ap and bounced, happens quite often, you know what happens next. Fourth case: uses ap does the 700 dmg and I die, that the one your looking for :) Oh and also another option, a good trololol...he fires the HE and takes my tracks for 0 dmg....silence, I kill you.

Also, it is important to note that once you fire that one shot, the fact that the 152mm is infamous for having that reload will cause anyone and everyone attacking you to close in without fear of getting caught moving out of cover by you, so then you get that medium that you could one shot coming in infront of you..nothing you can do but watch him go behind and take you out, and dont even bother trying to get at him with that turret speed, just embrace that you will die.

Though I know that no one here is saying the the 152 is btr than the 107, and that the amount of fun is different per person. So not much to argue there.
Happy hunting :)

Have to disagree with you on 2 shotting a KV. I did 1 shot another KV in full hp when I was aiming at his center mass with the circle covers his whole silhouete (he was angling 30 deg facing me but his turret was 90 deg) and some bits of the background.

As for getting a shot out, sometimes it is better to let other shoot you first and then fire away the 152mm. But that only works for lower tier matches for the most part.

the ap on the derp is underestimated a LOT .
i one shot KV's frontally EVERY TIME .. just shoot the turret with the AP and BAAM ...
KV-3 are one one shot if at 73% or lower .
u just gotta know where to hit and adapt ur playstyle accordingly (the slow reload)
i take away 40% from IS 3's by hitting them on sides ..
AP makes the derp a mini BL-10 .... if u know how to use it .
and then there are the gold rounds ..... pure absurdity .....  :P:D
frontally pen IS 3 's ...... woot

I love derp/lol cannon, I find 107 to be to op for its tier and to easy. Always wanting to get into tier 9 battles with kv. 90% of my stats is easly with 152mm.
Don't have to much trouble sniping with 100% crew, hit Ferdinand side other day at 595m when he had 39% health left and killed him. With HE you hit right part of a KV you can one shot them. Flanking t30 penning him in the rear also :D moment.

Only reason I play kv is 152mm.

It's fun if just for the insane damage it does, which can knock chunks off even from Tier 10 tanks, which of course is surprising coming from a Tier 5 tank. And with the splash damage on the HE rounds, you don't even need to aim accurately, as long as the shell lands within the vicinity of the enemy tank you'll be giving it the surprise of its life. That you can spook higher-tier tanks with such a puny-looking weapon and still be effective in battle is what makes the derpgun so fun.

Admittedly, the 152mm isn't as good overall as the 107mm in terms of tank-to-tank combat (the slow reload being one of the reasons), but the 152mm is fun just for the above reasons alone. That doesn't mean the 152mm can't be made to be effective though...

Top Gun using the derp gun. If you keep the disadvantages of the derpgun in mind, and maximize your advantages, you can kill a hell of a lot of things in no time.

Lets just say this, anyone who doubts the 152 just go take a shell or 2 from it, and you don't have to well place a shell to one shot other kv's, i've done it plenty of times, its not that hard to one shot nearly every tier 6 and down, and take 40%+ off of IS's its funny having an is come around the corner at 48% think hes gonna kill me when he just implodes

Ok, well idk, you say you one shot a KV everytime. But my recent KV experience made me laugh at the 152. Most shot either bounced or missed. I've been one shotted by a kv only a few times, less than 5 I think, and never from full health. Yes, I am always cautious when I see the 152, but I know what to do to ensure an easy pay out.

I kinda get now how it can be a fun gun though yes

...also note that you can easily penetrate an IS-3 from the front by shooting the below the V plate with the 107, thus taking out 300 dmg, and since the IS-3 gun does only 390 dmg, u'll get another shot totalling 600 dmg, as opposed to 450. So if you know where to shoot with 167 penetration you can pen pretty high up, including all of the American heavies even tier 10, in the hull, also can penetrate a Tiger easily, and an IS, Tiger 2 will get penetrated only if you shoot the lower hull. For all these tanks I was only mentioning the front armor, since the side is easy penetration anyway for even higher tiers. Though the 152 is more friendly to people who don't since it will do damage anywhere they shoot.

The KV's derp gets so accurate when your crew is nearing 100% on the 1st and 2nd skill. Not sure why but hey I love hitting tanks when all i can see the very tip of their turret lol.  :Smile-playing: Not sure yet if i want to go for the 3rd skill of camo...
