Ok so after derping around in the KV I have enough exp for the KV-3 and about enough for the 1s. I've concluded that I dislike the obnoxiously bulky, slow nature of the KV despite its current excellent weapons. As a result, I've been looking forward to reach the IS line but this new patch is confronting me with a dilemma: go KV-3 and get the slot/other benefits of the update for it or miss out on the KV-3's benefits and get the KV-1s extending into the IS line. This is all assuming that the other KV tanks are slow and bulky like the KV (except for the 1s which lacks power/armor) so perhaps I'm wrong about that.

What do I do ?!?!?!

ok, kv-3 gets the replacement and if you have the kv-3, you GET the replacement along with a free slot. if you dont like those tanks, aka the kv-3 and the replacement, you can just sell them for a profit and buy the kv-1s. why wouldnt you get the kv-3?

Never tried the 1s but it sounds good. But I did better with the KV3 then I did with the IS.

Go for the free tank and spot. You can always get the 1a later.

The KV-1S force you to use the useless 122 mm. Be prepared to get penned by everything tier 4 and up frontally and bounce or miss 3/4 shots fiered.

Both the kv3 and kv2 get engine buffs this patch which make both of them quite mobile.

Plus the kv2 gets its top speed increased to 35kph instead of 30 which is quite nice.

Both will do very well with the move to a higher tier.

Also the kv3 leads to the very promising kv4 which has excellent armour and speed with a supercharged long 107mm zis-24 gun.

When I tried the IS I didn't like it very much. It clashes with my playstyle, which I probably developed playing tanks like the KV or PZ4 (hang back a little, half sniping, half close quarters). Hopefully the kv3 tree will continue in the tradition of the kv and kv3.
