I was on several battles with Maus in my team or on the opposite, doesn't matter. In all the cases I felt sorry for poor Maus drivers. After spending so much time, XP and credits, they get a tank that can't even be compared to the Russian counterpart - IS-7. Maus has laughable speed, IS-7 moves faster than my VK-3601. Maus has less damage, Maus has worse armor angle, Maus has worse turret transverse speed. All that means that the tank that is the pinnacle of German line is nothing more than slowly moving target. The increased HP and armor doesn't mean much, because if everything has an easy time hitting you - you will lose that HP. With extremely slow transverse everything (incl. IS-7 with the monster gun) can just circle around it, and no sloped armor means less deflections. If we are talking about top German tank, it should be more than a moving bunker which is eventually either bombarded by arty or gets circled and killed by other heavies.

There's already a few other topics like this essentially asking the same thing. Hopefully the devs will take note.

IS-7s are not nearly as tough to beat than the IS-4s with more armor. :( The rear armor of the IS-7 is laughable.   The Maus is a good tank but MUST be supported. It will die no matter what otherwise. From the recent talks of adding multi-gun support, I would love to have the 75mm coaxial as well.  :Smile_great: I would love the increased DPS, even if it means more cost.

Well I don't really think that Maus is as bad as everyone puts it.
The worst problem it has is it's poor mobility, because of that you can't get to the battle and you do good only if the battle get's to you :-/
The firepower isn't that bad, armor angles can be fixed with positioning and tricks and the rear 160 mm armor really helps against tanks that are fast enough that I couldn't aim at them.
And well the turret ain't that slow that anyone could circle it, since you don't drive a Maus I guess you might have seen one with a damaged turret. The non-damaged turret Maus cannot be circled not even by such tanks as Panther.

But it's damn deadly when being supported by a bunch of smaller tanks. Because it works like a "tank" from traditional MMO terms, it can take all the hits aimed at him, while a few of smaller allies can just shoot the enemies without any resistance. (Doesn't work against tier6 arty, JTs and tier 10 tanks, because they can hurt the Maus :) )

And I would love to get that additional 75mm, I wonder how it would feel then :)

Even a Leopard could eventually kill an IS7 from behind after enough shots. He won't do the same with the Maus though. And you can easily track the IS7, you can't shoot the Maus' tracks.

But you can shoot Maus tracks. I get tracked quite often, even double tracked. But well of course not everyone can do that :) Like IS-4s and above can track the Maus :)

Maus is a great tank. Its equal to IS7.

Problem is, most of players dont know to play that tank.

There is no need to do anything with maus. When he will get his 75mm gun it will be a killing maschine.

I agree with Halfik.

I quite enjoy mine.
787 XP per battle, survived/won half the battles. Not my highest XP per battle tank, but close.

What I do see, is a lot of badly used Mäuse. They sit in a corner near their flag and the rest of the team gets killed so of course they end up being ganged up on.

When a Maus acts as the spearhead of an attack with supporting units it does well.

yaya always underpowered tier users are not skilled. Are you come from NF??
I have both is4 and vk4502 and is4 is much better then vk... Because weapons and armor slope....
Even with manual aim directly to is4 or is7 hull you really have low change to give dmg...
This isnt about weapon this about slope @ armor... So maus or wk dont have this protection
@ total with powerfull gun and faster turret move speed is7 & is4 domine entire iter9-10 heavy tanks...

Maus' biggest issues are it's lack of mobility and it's turret traverse speeds.

People can say "Maus is equal to IS-7!" all day long, but if an IS-7 got within range to circle the Maus, it's lights out.

Even at range, the IS-7 is at least equal. Maus has very well known holes in it's armor, and IS-7's 130mm is a vastly superior gun to Maus' 128mm. More damage, more penetration, faster reload, equal accuracy.

The IS-7 is just an all around better tank. Maus' biggest advantage is it's fear-factor. "OMG IT'S A MAUS!" But as more people realize how horrible it is, that's going to go away.

German heavy route's viability ends at KT.

Maybe, just maybe, its IS-7 that needs a nerf?

That Maus would be back if they'd roll back the armor nerf.

IS 7 = 1948 Mainbattletank (Prototyp)
Maus = 1944 Superheavy (Prototyp)

Nothing else to say.

IS-7 prototype wasn't for an MBT, it was for a heavy tank. The entire IS-series, to include the IS/T-10 were heavy tanks. The MBTs spawned off of the T-44 and T-54.

This is a game, not a boring history lesson, who cares. They could have made up tanks in this for all I care.

+1 to Centar, some super heavy users are plain noob.

As a lowly tiger 1 user I would rather fight a Maus than an IS7 anyday from my experience. Maus is slow, easy to spot and the long 88 almost always damages it, no bouncing off.

TBH if the Maus stays the way it is we wont see many come release every one will go for the E-100 (tho no1 has tried it yet) but its sure to be better than the Maus no matter what.

I see like, one Maus per day. It's probably the same guy, I don't really pay attention to names unless the guy says something, and everybody in this game is mute.

I see a dozen IS-7's.

I think that says something about how good the Maus is.
