Inertia and KV-4

On El-Haluf at F8, was rolling in KV-4 down the hill trying to stop at near the bottom edge just to peak into the valley....
Oooppps.....
Guess what, 100 tons just doesn't stop on a dime. After reaching about 50kph downhill I was NOT able to stop in time. I rolled about 10-15 meters right into the open and was blasted to pieces before I was able to get back. Do not recall ever having issues stopping downhill before 7.3 even in a very heavy tank.
Overall, love it!!

When physics comes in, things will be a LOT more interesting http://forum.worldof...le_honoring.gif

Surprisingly the E-50 has a lot of trouble stopping while going down a hill.

Found that out a few times as well. I have on a few occasions but mentally yelling, stop! blast you, as I try to stop on time. It's like an old car using drum brakes that are worn out, start stopping well before you think you need to.

Myself and Onyx were playing around with the KV-4's armor values the other day. After getting quite depressed upon finding out that the armor was mediocre if you're trying to say something nice, we decided to play with inertia as well.
If an AMX 13 90 is driving up a hill, a KV-4 coming down-hill at full speed will effectively one-shot it. We got some down-hill shots on a KT for upwards of 300, IIRC. Heck, when testing pen, Onyx rammed my T25 AT on level ground for 200-something.
KV-4 makes an acceptable battering ram so long as your target isn't smart enough - or fast enough - to move.

There is heavy, and then there is HEAVY. The KV-4 is about 1-1/2 IS-7s, and the only two tanks that outweigh it (the Maus and the E-100) have a combined top speed of what the KV-4 has. When you remember that, it makes sense.
The E-50 weighs more than quite a few Heavies, so it doesn't surprise me that it also has trouble stopping.

KV-5 and KV-4 will likely have the same problems. However, this will make them wonderful ramming tanks. 100t does a boatload of damage.

I think we've found the new ramming god.

Rofl try using a Maus. No stopping no turning no control til you are at the bottom. Hit a very unlucky m103 for over 500 dmg the other day in el canyon( he was goin full speed and cAme from behind a rock right into me basically head on).
