Thanks Nick!
It was a nice group of people.  I think we all enjoyed talking tanks for 3 hrs... now... back to shooting all of you.

Well, I come home to find 2 things that have been dropped on the US player base out of nowhere.

We discussed the lack of communication and the wishy-washy approach to stuff last night...  Well WG did it again.

The bonus code was changed to be a 1 day thing when originally it was to be valid for a week... I didn't use it immediately because it would be available later when I actually had a chance to use it.

UC was down to add tank locking... with no mention of it.... wtf is going on!

I feel for you Nick and the rest of the NA team because this is just bringing a shit storm down on what is already a difficult job for you guys.

If it's a consolation, I was blissfully unaware of this during dinner.

I would have been impressed if you had found out, since CW didn't even start until after we all got there.

Ah bliss...

If you had known, the mood might have been much more ominous... we outnumbered you considerably... a lone MS-1 among 20 or so end tier monsters. :)

Well, I did say that we were trying to make non-tier tens more important...

Speaking of things I said, I copped in the car this morning that I screwed up on the Pershing. The wobble stick came in on the neutral steer capable M46, M26 was steered by traditional brake levers. My bad.

Tank locking on the UC map isn't going to be that answer however.  The entrenched clans on the UC map will continue to not fight with each other, and they have farmed enough gold so that all of their active players have a multitude of end tier tanks (or should if they were smart).  They won't run out of end tier to use before the "fresh to the area" clans are already hamstrung.

The only way to get the stagnant out of the UC map is to "refresh" it from time to time by wiping it.  Then the entrenched clans have to start over too (they are still very likely to get right back to where they are now, but at least everyone has to scramble at first).

If variety is desired it will require some sort of point limit or "fantasy football" style team composition would have to happen... neither of which seems in the spirit of "end game" competition.

Check news again... I just got back from lunch and saw they extended the code date and retracted tank locking in CW as it wasn't supposed to be in the NA server.  Guess someone forgot to uncheck that box when they did the upgrade?  :)

Sorry I was unable to attend as I planned. I had a previously scheduled Doctors appointment and had to attend that instead. Maybe I can catch up with you guys another time. I kick myself in the arse for not remembering it when I posted or, I would have rescheduled the appointment.

I am happy to know tht it was still a great turnout for all that attended. :Smile_great:

I would like to have attended.  But with real life going on this week there was just no way that was possible.  Hopefully next one.  Or maybe one in Illinois?

Had a good time at The Gathering ... Ropkey is worth a second look ... This time with a camera .... DOH!

The Blackhorse in attendance had some very interesting discussions with Skip, restorer and curator on-duty ... and we got a couple of off-the-record crawl-thrus ...

We, as in all who attended Ropkey's Armor Museum and having arrived unannounced, were lucky to have found the museum Open at all ... Skip told us that he just happened to be there that day and had no idea we were coming ... he advised that visits really should be scheduled in advance ...

Iozzo's was nice, the food was great, and so was the table company. It looks like we filled 31 seats ... I was, however, a little disappointed that we didn't have a Room in which to mingle, meet & greet, etc. We welcomed the opportunity to meet The_Chieftain at last, and regret that a four-hour return-drive to our regularly-scheduled lives necessitated an early exit.

Kudos to WG and The_Chieftain for hosting ...

Thanks vonkevin for the pics. I'm from Indiana but had never heard of this museum.  I have been to the museum in Auburn though. I've got to find something in Florida.

I need to get to the array of museums in Auburn, myself.  It's on my list.  ;)
