So I've played almost 1300 games now and basically feel like I am stagnant at what I would call a newb level for my efficiency rating. How is this calculated. Is it basically based on win rates? What else is included. Also how can I improve it. I don't want to become a burden to my teams lol. I want to try and learn and become a better player. So what are your opinions on my stats and what would you do to improve them?

im stuck at 47% with about 5000 battles, the longer you go the harder it will be to alter it.

A long time ago in high school, someone asked how I got the highest SAT score in my class. I asked him, "How many practice SATs have you done and did you check how they arrived at the correct answers?" He said, "Errr, none" And I said, "There's your answer then."

The point is, you keep playing more, but do you ask youself if you have "points for improvements?" Eg do you have a "what aspect could I work on next game?"

At the 5000 battle mark I was at 49%. Now at the 11k mark I'm at 53%. My eff rating (since I first found out about it) was 1520, and now it's 1650. No platooning/clans involved. Point is: If you keep learning and applying what you learn you will improve... I still get pwned by better players, and I thank them for teaching me so that I learn what not to do next time.

Heres what you have to do.... Kill as many tanks as you can per game while getting as many cap and defense points simultaneously... spot a few dudes and deal as much damage as you can.... without dying of course....

First, what EBO said about premium accounts.  That's a 1.5 modifier to experience gained each match.  2nd, you get better as you play the game more, so your stats will improve with time.  Last, higher tier tanks do more damage per battle and generally gain more experience per battle.  So, your damage stats and experience stats, generally speaking, increase as a matter of course, just by playing higher tier tanks.  So, if you're still running tier 6-7 tanks, wait until you're grinding tanks like the E-75 and watch what they do to your overall stats.

Finally, don't obsess over your stats.  Nothing wrong with keeping track of your personal progress, but for the most part, there are too many variables involved for them to be a reliable metric for comparing your skills to other players.  For example, maybe that guy with the 55% win rate gets most of his victories in Medium tank companies, or maybe in a Tier 2 tank.  Those stats might look favorable to the stats of a guy running tier 9/10 heavies all the time, where the stakes are higher, and the competition is much tougher...  Stats are merely a tool that allow you to judge how well you are playing.  They are difficult to use in a reliable manner to compare yourself to another player.

If you want to milk your efficiency rating:
1) Don't take shots you aren't very confident will hit (pen doesn't matter)
2) Get base cap or defense points

If you actually focused on nothing but efficiency, you'd hurt your win % because it weights cap/defense points and spotting too highly (i.e. suicide scouting vs. good staying alive scouting). Having said that, if you play smart, dish out damage, go back and defend your base when it needs to be defended, cap when you need to cap (to win the game), your efficiency rating will improve.

Efficiency rating calculator link

http://wot-news.com/...p/stat/calc/en/

5 areas make up eff. rating.

Average destroyed in the battle:

Average damage in the battle:

Average spotted in the battle:

Average defense points in the battle:

Average captured points in the battle:

Quote

Table of efficiency rating values =

less than 600
Bad players (~ 6%)

600 - 900
Players below average (-25%)

900-1200
Average players (~ 43%)

1200-1500
Good players (~ 22%)

1500-1800
Great players (~ 3%)

more 1800
Unicums (~ 0,5%)

getting premium increases you rating, avg exp per battle....

Exp is not included in eff ratings sorry kid... :(

1) Don't take shots you aren't very confident will hit (pen doesn't matter)

Rate ratio is not included in eff rating. You can fire 100 rounds if 20 hit for 2000 damgage you'll still increase your eff rating.

You have do try and increase all 5 areas to become a purple player. You can't hide in the back all game and hope your team wins. You have to help your team win. You need to get your tank on the cap every chance you get. You now get a percent of cap even if you're team kills all the enemies. If you look you can see the only way to increase all 5 areas is to be an active part of the battle.

Snoozer Efficiency rating  2077.33

You can't "buy" your way ino a good eff rating. You have to always do your best every game.

On the other hand if you do become a dark green or Purple +1800 eff rating player you will be targeted by players using the eff mod. What they don't realize is that we are purple player for a reason, the longer and harder they try to focus on the great players, the better chance our team has of winning because we're purple because we can handle it.

Yet exp/battle is NOT calculated into efficiency, so ignore that.

Buying premium/gold DOES increase your efficiency because converting exp to free exp to skip bad tanks (low tier french tanks *cough*) and such can seriously pad your stats. A lot of tanks suck serious bawls stock, so skipping the 100 stock games is a big deal. A very big deal.

Platooning with 2 other good or even average players can raise your rating faster than you skill would naturally progress.

I didnt take the game seriously my first 5-6k games so digging myself out of stat hell is taking awhile (was 800 efficiency then). But 2500 games later I am now in the 1340 efficiency range which isnt much above average although to be completely honest I've seen TONS of 3 person platoons with 2000+ efficiency each and they were complete garbage. Every single day I see purples fail harder than our recent US Presidents.

I use XVM and yeah I do pay more attention to the higher rated players but Ive seen 500 efficiency people do pro shit all they time. Keep in mind people share accounts, parents let kids play on theirs, pure arty players can have low ratings even if they are scary good. To be clear though, a lot of purples are good, but not all purples actually are. That said, I still try to keep my teams purple bastards alive whenever possible just to be safe ;)

You should try to dish out as much damage as you can - you will earn more xp & credits that way.
You should try to kill as many enemy as you can - each enemy destroyed is one less gun shooting at your team.
You should defend the cap whenever possible - getting your base capped loses matches!
You should cap the enemy base when you can - get that win whenever you can.
Doing these things will help improve your win rate and it will also improve your efficiency value.
