ozethedude's Photo ozethedude Apr 29 2012

I have seen this tank a few times in 7.3 test, and that got me curious, cause it never have been announced...
its name is M6A2E1 or so and here is a image, of how the real tank looks like (its the same as ingame)

so, anyone can explain me this tank?

It was a tank you got with the most expensive pre-order Gold pack.
WoT wiki info page http://wiki.worldoftanks.com/M6A2E1

Pz 5/4 and A32 came with mid & low packs respectively.

Never seen a picture of it, didn't realise it had actually been built.

Its a pre-order tank. You could get it before release by buying the most expensive package and it was made available a for a short time through the gift shop.

It was removed from the Gift shop because before release they said it won't be available for purchase after release. They removed it because a lot of players complained about it.

Its M6A2E1

Its not a secret tank, but it is gravity defying. The real thing failed, because it was so top heavy and the high ground pressure ment it couldnt climb small hills.

they complained about it? "They" always complain.

they complain because it had insane frontal armor and gun penetration. I think it was 180mm front hull armor and 250mm penetration.

why dont more people focus on the t34, it has 280mm turret armor and 250mm penetration.

I'll tell you a story ....
Long long long time ago ( actually 1 year ago ) , when we were nothing but caveman , fast to run but armed with peashooter , the land were filled with the mammoth called M6A1 , they were the true force of nature especially when travel along with their herd .
But the hunter never give up , they developed new lethal weapons and put them against the M6 .
And the mammoth felt , 1 at a time , till everyone believed that they went extinct .
A few survive , living in their cave , they are what remind us about how cruelsome the human can be .

191mm frontal armour with slopes and 198mm penetration.

89mm on turret sides and 44mm rear and sides.

It's a boss when it comes to a frontal fight especially with a bit of cover to get an angle on the front while hiding the chubby tail.

Mediums below t9 are totally helpless vs its frontal armour. Except a Lorraine but even then it's not the best plan to take it head on.

It was never intended for production iirc, 2 were made and simply used as testbeds for the 105mm on the T29 and friends

Cpt_Kill_Jack's Photo Cpt_Kill_Jack Apr 29 2012

The M6A2E1 was built. Its purpose was to test the 105mm used on most of the upper American tanks. Their though just modify something we already have to test it instead of building something completely new.

Also, its near failure to move was even without the extra 100mm armor which was bolted onto a different experimental M6.

They haven't vanished completely from the standard server either. I run mine at least once a day...but they are damn rare.
