Game timer severly innacurate

DHanson865's Photo DHanson865 May 01 2012

This happens frequently but tonight's example had more time on the clock than most.

I a game with 2 vehicles alive on our side, 1 left on the opposing team, I enter the cap circle with more than 1 minute left on the clock and the game ends in a draw.

Now I've uploaded the replay and apparently the replay is 15mins long so it's the initial time remaining that was off. If we had known the game timer was off by 1:16 we would have capped 2 minutes earlier instead of wasting time searching for the 15th tank.

This really needs to be fixed as the clock affects game strategy in maps with lots of hiding places where the game goes long and the few remaining tanks are closely matched.

I have never had a problem with the game clock, seems to be accurate every time for me. It could be lag troubling you or an unlucky server bug. It would be nice to have a link to this replay.

That big black background image with the word "download" in orange is the link to the replay. If you are blocking images in your browser you can go to http://mwreplays.com...y/3PTXAVFBWISB/ to download it.

No lag for me my ping times are often in the 20 to 40 ms range and I see this issue often.

Could be an issue with the client showing time remaining based on local clock instead of showing server clock. I have power saving states enabled on an AMD cpu so that could throw the client off if they are relying on timing routines on the CPU and aren't following the modern guidelines for programming on power saving CPUs.

I edited the first post after watching the replay the time was off by 1 minute 16 seconds.

As to the replay I wouldn't have spent time chatting with the Marder about his health at 5 mins remaining or tooling around waiting for binocs to kick in around 2 mins remaining if I'd known how much time was really left. I'd have jumped on cap and either died to the enemy marder (longer view range than t82), killed the enemy marder (I do have a highly skilled crew + camo net so he might not see me), or got the win by cap points.
