I had a surprise game the other day with the trusty KV5 on Mountain Pass.

The game froze on startup and I finally joined 2 mins in to find 6 of our guys dead.

I thought to myself oh well at least the repair bills not going to hurt.

I ended up with 6 kills, some were cheap but the last one, a T32 was a huge surprise.

I dont understand why people have trouble killing a KV5. They are a snap.

I think I took 5-6 hits when she was down to 54/1680 from the T32.

Praise Russian armour! It won the game.

It's not the tank, it's the driver. Like this guy just proved, KV-5s can be absolutely amazing if played right. I've seen KV-5s pull off some amazing wins. If I buy a T8 premium, it will most like be one of these "Rolling Fortresses".

I'm doing well in the KV-5. One day my win rate dropped to 46% though  . I'm slowly recovering

The KV-5 is pretty much the ultimate Anti-Moron tank.

Anybody with a clue will be able to easily defeat it, nobody without a clue knows how to.

Gonna have to agree with this.   The R2D2 turret is so easy I can hit it with just an outline of the tank at multiple angles as easy as I can looking at it.  And it's not because I'm so good at visualizing it either.

Wow. I usually have trouble against experienced KV-5 drivers. Those that know how to drive can be a real nuiscience to ther tier 8 tanks.

But the KV 393/774 is 50.78% and thats my second hightest played tank

Not the point im making forget my stats, KV5 is a cash tank so you get wide skill sets and tank groupings.

Just saying KV5 takes the hits better than most tanks well above it.

I feel more confident rolling in in that, than I do in an E-100 sometimes (mine is 78/155, 50.32% for those that believe this matters)

KV-5 can be awesome in the hands of somebody who actually knows how to drive it.

Uh, I believe he said he, in his Type 59, could beat a KV-5, in a one on one battle.  I for one, don't find that hard to believe though situation may be uncommon.  Mostly because a KV-5 will draw a blizzard of fire from the opposing tanks who know it can be beat when hit in the good spots.

Bad tanks can still be played well.

KV-5 is awesome against low Tiers, If you are in the top of the list, and you see a lot of tier 5-7... You will have a good game, and win a lot of credits.. I have a KV-5, and that beast can take a beating.. exept when you found against someone that really know your weakposts.. ( Like I do)

I been seeing people brag in chat about getting steel wall in there KV-5. Well it's do to the one's given you that don't know where to hit you or lower tier with less pen. But every time I go against a KV-5 in same tier or upper. It BURNS BABY!! Unless the person is smart and runs in a pack or has help.  
Only thing I am trying to make people see is don't take what someone says about there play and think it suits yourself. I seen to many KV-5 drivers run out and get killed very fast. Also I have taken out several KV-5's in my Type 59 one on one also. It is easy to do remember the KV-5 turret is slower than my driving.   Congrats to the OP but serious folks the KV-5 is far from being the KING.

This.  Everyone who says that it isn't a bad tank because they specifically do well in it forget this.  Remember for every 1 of you there are 9 people who are keeping the KV5 at its deserved 44% win rate.
