Gun and aim not in sync

I needed to aim higher and my gun was as high as an M40/M43 can go but the aim is at its highest the software code would let it go. I moved back and it didn't make any difference. Please fix this.

uh, its not broken, its a trajectory gun, not a direct fire gun. if you press shift you'll see an overhead map that will show you where the shell will land. It surprises me how many arty players dont know this..

I expect someone will say the shell leaves the turret not the gun muzzle. Since there's no turret then it must be leaving the SPG where the gun is attached. With that coding the SPG is helpless in this situation.

I think you need to understand the principals behind how a field artillery piece works. Coding for a higher gun elevation does nothing. Artillery has what is called a Max Elevation Quadrant Of Fire. Exceeding this is dangerous. I would suspect that the developers kept this in mind. Another thing that was mentioned above. Are you not playing your artillery in god mode?

It is not UNDERESTIMATING you. The proper term is MISUNDERSTANDING you. Read your post. It does not make a whole lot of sense. What is the problem?

Okay, here goes. The screencapture is free camera mode in a replay. The gun is pointing as high as it would allow. The aiming reticle is way below the angle of the gun. If I were in God Mode (Shift) then the enemy tanks on the ridge will be in my red line. I should be shooting over their heads with the gun pointing that high. But no. The cliff is too close to where the gun meets the SPG. That's where the code draws the line from. A turret would angle up and that shot would be possible with guns on tanks that have a good inclination.

remember, there is paralax in the forced 3rd person view, and you cannot visually counter it
He was out of your guns traverse. Good chance he was too far back for you to direct fire, and not far enough to indirect (and in reality, even if you did indirect like that, you'd be just as likely to hit yourself)

I think the solution to this is add hydraulic shocks as equipment that will lift the front of the SPG.
