So I guess 7.3 test 2 stats are more or less the final ones......great. Disappointing tbh.

I'll be glad to finally be able to get rid of all the KVs though and enjoy my garage slots. I think I've had the KV/-3 both in my garage since like...probably 2 weeks after the game released. Damn.

While waiting is painful, I can remember a few times a patch took a game down right as a few days off started for the gaming community, it gets ugly very quickly.  Never patch before the weekend, always do it at the start of the week.

I really, really hope that some of the big issues regarding the Russian tanks were considered prior to releasing this update. As it stands, 7.3 v2 is quite dissapointing when it comes to the tank changes. There needs to be some soul-searching on WG.net's part regarding the KV-3's useless gun filler, the KV-4's 107 ZiS-24 dead-end and speed change, and the KV-5's standing versus other premium tanks.

I ended up playing the Test Server for a few hours today to get a feel for the changes and see if they were good or bad.

KV-1.... God I hope they adjust the MM for it so its not placed against Tier 10s, the 107 and 152 allowed the KV to actually do something in those battles, the KV-1 sucks pretty bad but if they bump the credit earning up abit with fair MM its worth keeping for money grinding.

KV-2.... The KV with the 152 was my primary credit earning tank since I am not insane enough to spend 50 bucks on a decent premium. With MM broken the way it is, you could take advantage of the MM failness and run 152mm Derp with HE. Land a couple HE on some tier 10s, bam 30-50k credits. As a tier 6 it feels very weak. They should of gave it a slight armor bump to go with the HP. The 152mm is supposed to be more accurate in 7.3, but TBH I had a hard time hitting anything at range compared to legendary 700meter broken vision mechanic derp snipes of 7.2 with "worse" .69 accuracy. Probably gonna sell it since I already got the S-51.

T-150.... Jesus this thing is like the retarded offspring you would get if you bred a KV and KV-3 together while they were on crack. I feel sorry for the people who actually have to play this tank to advance down that russian line.

KV-3.... I enjoyed this tank when I started the game in patch 6.9, but over the course of several months it basically got reamed into tier 10 matches most of the time for me and become one of my most dreaded daily doubles. But in 7.3 I honestly feel the HP and tier boost suits it quite well, I am actually going to keep this.

KV-4.... I didnt get to play it before the speed nerf, and tbh that nerf had to of ruined the tank. Its like an IS-4, except more fail in every way. 50 kph was imba, but 30 is wtfshit, 40 would of made this tank worth using. Its sad, I was really looking forward to this tank but now I'm going to completely ignore it.

ST-1.... Even with the 10x from the Test server I knew I couldnt maintain my sanity grinding the KV-4 to get it, so skipped it. Doesnt look like a bad tank though.

IS-8.... I actually found this thing very fun, it definitely fits the IS line better than the IS-4 did. Sure it doesnt bounce shots like the IS-4, sure it cant get up to speed without help, but damn abuse terrain and Remove Speed Governor and its an amazing tank. Keeping this puppy.

IS-4.... I was and still am EXTREMELY skeptical of it. Feels ever so slightly better than in 7.2, its kind of odd going through a match when only 1-2 holes in your driver hatch instead of 20. Sure the rest of its front gets this shit penned out of it, but the higher top speed and hp make up for it I think. The gun is sooooo close to being worth using, the biggest thing I noticed was it feels much more accurate than other russian guns when firing on the move, I hit pretty much anything within 150meters while traveling full speed consistently. Downside it the accuracy and fire rate still is not  good enough to to compensate for the lower Alpha. The 8 extra pen and slight RoF over the S70 is not enough to make up for the low Alpha. I'd much rather have the S70 if they arrent going to tweak the 122 just a tad. Honestly a MERE 0.20-0.25, yes, ZERO POINT TWO to ZERO POINT TWO-FIVE rate of fire increase would solve the problems with the gun. 5.2-5.25 is only a 4-5% RoF increase over the standard 5 RoF.

Please, for the love of clanwars, slightly tweak the IS-4s gun, otherwise it will have no role in CW and thus no reason to be used at all as a tier 10.

I was more excited about the changes in 7.3 coming and then I played the test server. Now, I wish we could just leave things the way they are. First time since I started playing that I'm disappointed in the changes. IS-4 doesn't fit anywhere now. It was my favorite tank, but if it plays in the regular server like it plays in the test server I will probably sell it. Everything else but the ST-1 were really quite unimpressive to me. The ST-1 looks like a keeper though. At least there is that.

I'd wait awhile before selling it. Things play so differently on the test server, you can't get a real feel for how it will work for you on the NA server. I'm going to keep mine. No reason to sell it. The gun is great!

meh, the way I see we were already driving a tier 6 (kv) and tier 7 (kv-3) right now, it's just a needed hp boost to compete in those battles, yay.

I think you are confusing aggressive play style with people just not caring since their good/bad stats arent permanent. I will admit I've had alot more fun on Test than I do on the NA server due to having the freedom to try crazy shit and see if it works or not without worrying about my dossier. And I am sure alot of the players are Test are doing the same, cause I've seen some really.... Not wise stuff going on virtually every match lol.

Maybe on the normal servers MM will flesh out better due to more players and better variety of tanks, but still, a few of the tanks are pretty bad,,,,

Interestingly, the server is still up. Read this thread thinking it was over but a look at the "portal" news, specifically this http://worldoftanks....-public-test-2/ didn't say anything about it.

Went to try logging in and did, with only 700 other souls.

The KV-4 is still a decent battering ram due to it's tonnage and the limited run-up it needs to take a decent chunk of health off almost anything. Don't underestimate it just because it's not hitting everything for ~725+ on a downhill slope of 4-5 tank-lengths.

Having played all races' tanks up to Tier 9 on various accounts, I've gotta say the grinds for french tiers (up to AMX 13 75, plus all stock tank grinds), american tanks (medium line, some stock tanks), german med lines + tiers 6/7 (ex. 3601) + 'maus track' tier 8/stock 9, I've got to admit I'm wondering why people are moaning quite so much about the grinds and tanks that are on the test server at the moment. Sure, the IS-4 seems to lack a role in CW at the moment, and hopefully that'll change, but the other tanks are a mix of 'decent off the bat' and 'good after a fashion', and don't play too horribly as stock (well, imo they exceed almost all other stock lines for performance). Wargaming seem to have introduced some well balanced tanks, and a couple of almost OP tanks (IS-8, ST-1), and because they're not going to spank everything out of the box, and with no effort, people are whining about a new anti-Russian bias.

These tanks are at various places on the curve, but none truly suck. The KV-4 is a reasonable tank, and if it had never been abusable then 30kph wouldn't be sniffed at so hard. It's one of the heaviest tanks in the game, and needs to handle like that. The tank is balanced at Tier 8, against stuff like the T32 (same gun as the Tier VII T29), VK4502A and IS-3. While it isn't a King Tiger, it's a very reasonable tank and can do decent damage and ramming damge. When top tier, it does the KV-1 thing of not being afraid of any lower tier tank even better than the IS-3, while it has a little more trouble against the Tier X tanks it'll see less frequently, and can still pen Tier IX tanks with reliability, especially given the accuracy of the gun - it seems like a fair trade off.

When people aren't using gold so much, my expectation is that the armor will be found to be better than it is currently perceived to be.

---------

My main concern is that tanks are still getting stuck on Province (behind building on south side of cap), Mountain Pass (free standing boulder at North end of bridge), Abbey (switchback to high road on south side of map) etc, and some of these places have been around for over a year. Will these ever be fixed?

And the server is still up... lol

Far more bounces now. Oh... everyone's out of gold ammo! ;)

Also a lot more careless high tier arty that don't give a crap if their teammates are anywhere near the easy kill they're going for. I've died more to my own over eager arty "teammates" tonight than I have in the past 6 months or more on the live server. Go figure.

I won't sell it right away..I know the test server plays crazy for (3) reasons.

1. Gold ammo flying like knats...
2. Russians are the majority of players and they are VERY agressive...
3. People have a tendency to play fast and loose on the test server and try crazy things..

I just don't see where the IS-4 fits in the way they have it setup now. Its not a flanker, its not a bully,..
I'm not really sure what it is. Nobody wants a tier X that could be more classified as a "support tank".
The ST-1 has much more the feel of the old IS-4. To me, it plays more like a tier 9 1/2. That is exactly where the old IS-4 seemed to be. Now the IS-4 just feels outclassed by the other tier X's. I actually play better in my current IS-4 on 7.2 than I do in my IS-7. On the test server, I would much rather be in the IS-7 or ST-1 than the 4. Not really that impressed with the IS-8 either.

Just my opinion..I could be entirely wrong and the IS-4 might turn out to be a monster on the NA standard server..we'll see.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

Allow for the jump from T-28 to KV-2 (for a exp premium of course) so people can completely avoid the pain of having to use that HORRIBLE KV-1, instead of suffering through the KV-1, THEN having to get both the KV-2 and next tier separately.
