Train your other tanks crews in your premi...

WhiteAndMilky's Photo WhiteAndMilky May 04 2012

Ive played almost 10,000 games now, and just 2 days ago I found of about this. This thread is for those like me who had no idea about this incredibly useful trick.

If you own a premium tank that is the same class and nationality as one of your normal tanks, you can train the normal tanks crew with no penalty inside the premium tank. Without needing to pay for retraining or anything.

Example: I take the 4 crew members out of my t110. I put them in their slots in the t34 and I use the other 2 t34 crew members. So now 4 out of the 6 crew members in my t34 are t110 trained.... But they get normal xp from the games played in t34.

Example 2: I can take my t-50-2 and get win of the day. Then I take the crew out and put them in my tetrarch, giving me a second win of the day. Then I take them out and put them in my t-127 and get a third win of the day. Then I take them out and put them in my m3 Stuart and get a FOURTH win of the day.

Wished I had known about this earlier. Now I'm training my t110 crew x3 by using the t34 and the t14, e50 crew on t25, is4 crew in kv5, and t50-2 crew on my tetrarch, t127 and m3 Stuart. Pretty cool :) wish I had a Lowe....

this would work well for someone with small amounts of clan wars tanks... myself, i have all tier 10s, 3 tier 9s, and 2 tier 8 arty... never knowing which tank i would need in clan wars makes it next to impossible to have the crew bounce around that easily without spending the 200 gold per to make sure they are on the right vehicle. works extremely well for grinding purposes within the same nationality though. will be doing this when the next set of tanks comes out... if i havent already gotten enough free exp to unlock the top tier right away

I go one step further and put them all in all my tanks premium tank or not just for the 2x game each day. Sometimes I keep the gunner if the skill loss is to great but for one game you mostly get away with it. If you do it across say 7-8 tanks every day they skill up pretty quick .

He is bouncing the crew between premium tanks and the tank they are trained for. You don;t have to retrain them for the premium tank.

As long as you have a heavy crew (for example a T-29 crew) on a heavy prem (for example the T-14) you do not suffer subpar on the premium.  This allows you to train a heavy crew for a specific tank on the premium.  Only if it is a  different tank type (a medium crew in a heavy, for example) does it suffer (-15 or something like that).

Yep, I've got my E75 crew sitting in my Lowe being trained up from 50%, all the while also grinding xp for the necessary E75 upgrades in my elite Tiger II. My Lowe stats have suffered though, but I wouldn't blame my 47% -> 41% WR entirely on the crew change...there might be a slight increase in bonehead moves there as well.

Penalties
If a crew member is not competent to operate the tank he is placed in, or if a crew member gets injured during battle, then there is a penalty to the base training level of his primary and non-role specific skills. Penalties are always applied before Bonuses. Lack of Competence
A crew member is always trained for a specific vehicle. Should a crewman operate a vehicle that he is not trained for, he may receive a penalty to his training level. This is indicated by the training level being colored red in the garage screen. A penalty received for the following situations:
  • If a crew member is in a vehicle of the same class, and the vehicle is not a premium vehicle, he will take a 25% penalty to his current training level. So, for example, 80% base training level will be reduced to 60%, or 100% base training level will be reduced to 75%.
  • If a crew member is in a vehicle of a different class, and the vehicle is a premium vehicle, he will also take a 25% penalty to his current training level.
  • If a crew member is in a vehicle of a different class, and the vehicle is not a premium vehicle, he will take a 50% penalty to his current training level. So, for example, an 80% crew will be reduced to 40% base training level, while a 100% crew will reduced to 50% base training level.
Experience gain for each crew member is also reduced under these conditions.
