i got the tiger I a few days ago and im really enjoying it.

it is underpowered, but, well...the developers are russian...its clear that the russian tanks are overpowered in comparison to german ones, while on the real WWII the german tanks were more powerful than russian ones.

German engineering was always, and still is, awesome.

Also while armor slope often is accounted for, round/armor overmatching rarely is, and the Tiger's armor over matched most AT guns of its time and that was a significant contributing factor to its protection. As a general rule, BHN effects, shot shatter, and slope effects are related to the ratio between shot diameter and plate thickness. The relationship is complex, but a larger projectile hitting relatively thinner plate will usually have the advantage, and vice versa.

It was all really well thought out but this paragraph especially is one I think should be implemented. If you penetrate a certain amount above the targets armor then I think you should lessen or negate the odds of a bounce (even if you lose some damage for it) and I feel a shot from a long 88 should go straight through a leo to compensate.

+1 from me though.

It seems the company is London-based, but the main dev team is in an eastern europe country ?

Anyway, not really important.

I find my Tiger I one of the most enjoyable tanks I have played but honestly it doesn't feel like a tier 7 heavy tank.

I have to also agree that you have to play a Tiger I more like a TD than a Hvy tank to be successful in it.  It excells at being a long range sniper with good survivability but does poorly in dogfights.  Part of the problem is that its armor is easily penetrated especially compared to its russian equalivants. Another problem is that it needs its historical top speed which would make up for its lack of protection by gaining protection from being mobile.

Also another kind of side problem is that its main gun while being super accurate, having great penetration and having a high RoF, doesn't do enough dmg to have a good knock out punch for a tank this hvy.  Basically You have russian Tier 7s doing 390 dmg per hit with their 122mm cannon vs a Tiger hitting for around  200 dmg.  When you consider that most engagements are decided in 1-3 hits depending on how much pervious dmg a tank may have taken in battle, being able to do twice the dmg on that one last single shot usually means more than being able to shoot 2-3 times.

Heh, yeah. A shot from an 88LL should most certainly go straight through a Leo, out the back and through the next Leo. It should never bounce against a 50 mm plate except at silly long range.

I like the gun. A lot.

I would kill for the L71 on my T-44. That extra 30mm of penetration always seems to make a huge difference.

I finally got everypart on my Tiger I yesterday night. I am having fun because my crew diged 100% yesterday too. And I must say I can feel the difference. Tougher, faster, better, stronger. I am personal fan of Tiger I in life so I am having so much fun I can't describe.  :Smile_honoring:  Even when I buy my King Tiger I won't sell my old one. I <3 it!  :Smile_harp:

I like the tank but every hit causes a crew member or module to die. Adding the slow speed makes it food for arty and since there are always 3-5 arties per game, I had enough of it...

I hate my Tiger. I thought I'd love it, but if someone even looks at me wrong, my ammo rack gets destroyed.

It's slow, underpowered compared to Soviet IS, almost all shots disable some module or another - as much as I thought I would enjoy playing it, it's just a pain in the backside now.

I voted Yes, and it's my first heavy.

I don't have anything to really compare it with, but I love it. Loved it from the start (after upgrading to 2/3 engine and the 88 from the vk36).
And when I got everything else fully upgraded, including the long 88, I loved it even more. It packs a mean punch, has descent enough armor/HP (although I would like to see something bounce..), and with the nice acceleration it's not that bad to manouver around, and pop out from behind cover. The gun is just great. awesome accuracy and penetrates anything if you know where to hit it.

Had 100+ fights in it now, had a few fires and damaged ammo rack etc, but not nearly as bad as some say in this thread. carrying around a fire extinguisher and repair kit really helps.

with my other tanks I always got a bit bored with them when there was nothing left to upgrade and I didn't really want the next up the tree that bad. but the tiger I play simply for fun. had some awesome battles in it, and it's my most successful one in terms of average XP and kills per battle. Gotten me a nice stack of sniper and steel wall awards too  :Smile-playing:

Just got my Tiger today, and thankfully the engine was insta-upgraded thanks to my Panther, and also had the 88L/56 ready.  Tracks were upgraded first and now working on the turret.  She's a excellent support tank for the bigger heavies, KT and IS-4s and the likes.  Turret rotation is slow, painful but I need to work on the upgrades and mods and i think it'll be a great tank.

That gun is junk though. You get put into matches where you can't penetrate anything but rear armor on half the tanks reliably. I ended up putting the 10.5cm on and using HE shells so I could get some XP with the thing, until I had enough for the 88L71, which is a beauty of a gun for penetration.

You know what my favorite target was with the VK3601H and the VK3002DB? The Tiger. Why? Because I could often penetrate the armor with my short 88 or 75L70. Now that I'm in the Tiger, all sorts of mediums are punching extra ventilation holes in my tank, but I'm not getting the promised 5% crew performance bonus.

Kidding aside... I'd be OK with this tank but for the massive number of component damages that come with the first hit or two.

Yeah found the 88L/56 rather bouncy against the bigger monkeys.  Once I upgraded the turret I grabbed the L/71 off my Panther and proceeded to penetrate once again like a crazy man.

Worst thing I've had was getting the ammo rack hit, repairing it, and then next shell hit it again... suprisingly it didnt explode.  Rather annoying.

Just a quick question, what kind of mods?
Spall liner, Rammer, Wet Ammo rack or something else?

After the fix the Tiger received on the russian release server I am now finaly having some fun with the Tiger. Module damage seems fixed and on par with other heavies.
