Anyone who has even looked at the Patton`s modules probably noticed the 90mm Gun M36, and with that, how lackluster it is at tier 9. My suggestion would be to give it to the M26 Pershing as a slightly faster firing, lower pen alternative to the 90mm Gun T15E2M2, or also possibly going between the the 90mm Gun M3 and the 90mm Gun T15E2M2 and cut the research cost of the Pershing ---> Patton to about 162k experience to make up for having to research another gun. I`m just suggesting this because they have this gun and model for it but no one uses it because 172mm of penetration doesn`t come close to cutting it at top tiers.

Lower pen faster firing isn't going to change much, as far as game play goes, you'll fire faster, but would probably bounce more. Voiding the whole point of faster reload. Secondly are you talking about the Pershing or the Patton?  Because you seem to combine the two in the post. Are you wanting a better gun for the Pershing or the Patton? You might as well get the T15 for the Pershing considering the 179k xp you need to earn to the Patton. I don't have either one of the tanks, but they've always given you a choice of grinding right through or making a tank keep-able.

You have a choice of three other guns though for the Patton. The T15E2M2 90mm, which is awesome on the Pershing,  the 105 T5E1M2, which I would guess would be OK. ( The third gun, the other 105 I wouldnt worry about). But with these other two guns, why even look at the 90mm M36?

All the more reason to move the M46 down to tier 8. The M46 should only be armed with the M3 and M36. (Ok, maybe the T15E2 gun as well but I would consider even that gamey.) Basically by moving the M46 down, the T15 and M36 guns become two sides of the same coin. The M3 would remain a competent tier 7 gun, while the T15 would share most of the capabilities of the M3 and much as it is now, would simply be a more accurate and higher penetrating tier 8 M3. The tier 8 M36 on the other hand, would instead gain slightly greater damage and penetration values over the M3, but with no appreciable loss/ increase in accuracy, load speed or aim time. Also, in order to better reflect these changes, M36 ammo would have to be incompatible with the older guns. Only under these circumstances would the M36 be relevant to this game and by extension, allow for a more advanced tank to fill in that tier 9 slot.

lol this honestly makes alot more sense than my original suggestion. Only thing I see here is what would be the US tier 9 med? The M48? And then what would happen to the M26?

The scenario that I have been throwing around on the forum is that both tanks share the tier 8 slot, with the M26 acting as the "bridge" tank between the heavy and medium lines. (The Pershing was, after all initially considered a Heavy tank.) As for the tier 9 slot, yes the M48 would be introduced there. It would likely have two 90mm guns to choose from and a 105mm option as well. (That gun would be the T140, NOT the M68) The M48 however, would not be able to upgrade to the A5 variant, it would at best be able to upgrade to the A2 or A3. With the 105mm installed, it would be representative of the experimental T54E2 which was basically and advanced turret on top of an existing M48 hull. (There were other T54 variants as well including an oscillating turret option (T54) and an autoloader (T54E1) but the E2 specifically had a standard turret with a human loader, which would make it easier to model in game.)

Oh one more thing; my scenario would place the M47 as a tier 8 premium. An anti Type-59 if you will.

Or the M48 can share the tier XI slot with the M46. The M46 leads to the M48, similar to how the KV-2 will lead to the S-51, of the VK3002DB leads to the Tager and Panther.

Then we get the M60 at tier X.
