I find the idea of a self destruct module/consumable very apealing...

when surrounded by multiple tanks and are 1 shot away from destruction, why not activate a self destruct and take out those closest to you?

Because no such thing was available nor installed in tanks during WWII?

It contains caffeine which improves concentration an works pretty well as refreshment drink. So it would work better than pure water.

Well german tanks did have self-destruction charges installed on their tanks, but they were only used to scuttle the tank into a condition, where it couldn't be salvaged by hostile forces.

Self destruct is over all a bad idea to add to the game. No nation in WW2 used them and for good reason, It would not have been practical in rela life and its not really practical in the game either.

Uh... NO.

Self-Destruct is exactly... I mean EXACTLY the same noobish behavior as ragequitting. The splash damage idea isn't a bad one, but you know damn well people will do it just to ragequit.

It already happens with people pressing esc-exit battle when they're not dead. You will know by the message: *player name* went up in flames.

Yep... I thought they did away with that ability, but it's definitely happening with more frequency lately.

And the russians used dogs, but the dogs would get scared and run back to the trainer, with live ammo strapped to its back....

I would like to see a self destruct only if you got stuck on the map (rock/dirtclod/whatever)...until they fix it of course.
I think it's kinda stupid you become a useless asset and free kill because the server desynced you into the environment.
