Hey guys.

Alright, I just want to say that this is NOT a whining thread, and it is not asking for a buff or nerf to any tank. I just want to see if anyone else has had the same experience.

Here's my observation: the team with the most IS-8s or IS-4s has been winning lately.

Now don't get me wrong, I think both are fairly well balanced with poorer armor for a bigger gun. However, in the 30 or so games I played my Tier 9s in yesterday (both my E-75 and Patton), it seems that each one was completely dominated by IS-8s and IS-4s. Has anyone else had this same experience?

Again, I'm not asking anything to be nerfed or buffed, and I'm not complaining about the new IS tanks. I just want to know if anyone else has had an experience similar to mine.

-Thompson

Could this be because people don't know where to shoot them yet? (IS-4 with updated armor, IS-8 being new)

Birds of a feather stick together.

When a game starts, the team who forms more wolfpacks naturally does better.

Wolfpacks are made when similar or same tanks group up

Wolfpacks are easier to form when there is more of a same tank on a team.

Team with more IS-8 or IS-4, forms more wolfpacks, ergo win more often.

Pretty sure everyone knows where to shoot the IS-4, also my IS-8 is hit in the ammo rack almost every game and that's not an exaggeration. I don't think as many are aware of where it is yet either.

The ones that got the IS-4 and the IS-8 are all IS vets, so they know how to use mobility and speed as a heavy. And obviously their IS-4.

And Axiom, I doubt it as the IS-8's armor is not uber bouncy OP, so no real aiming required to hurt it, and everyone and their mother in tier 9 matches know an IS-4's weakspots,

Once the newness wears off, not everyone will play their is4s and is8s when they could be playing thier e75s/e100s, which are more forgiving than either.......

Perhaps some of the more experienced players are trying out the new tanks?

new tanks, nobody knows how to kill them efficiently yet... same happened with T110 and M103 and they will slowly begin to go back to hibernation in the garage

I haven't seen that to be the case. The team with the better players has been winning, whether they have IS-8s, IS-4s, or E75s. Last night it wasn't the tank so much as the player.

It's been good to see many people in game in the evenings, up to 25000. It has made for an awful lot of average skill players, though, coming out to try their new tanks.

Could it be that there are a bazillion IS4's and everyone is running them and their free IS8's?
They are not OP  Its all in your head. This is the same crap that started after the T110 came in game

Guy --- the update was yesterday,  everyone was using new toys ..since Almost EVERY SINGLE MATCH had lots of IS8 and IS4 's in them ...how the hell could the team not win with them?
NO TEAM HAD ZERO of them ..lol.
It was raining IS everything yesterday.
Just like when 103 and 110 came out,  you couldn't run a match without six or seven of them.
The IS8 is not that well armoured ..I could and did pen it with KV3 and the T32,  with the 105mm..
that drivers hatch is ammo storage area it seems.
E75 did well ..the IS4 is still a pain in the ass.
Thankfully lots of guys were using stock guns.
But its still tough to kill.
Make this thread in two weeks.
I think you will find 103 and IS8 are mostly on par.
And ya,  I am not driving one,  just been shooting the frigging things for hours,  since they are everywhere.
BTW - KVIS at mines vs IS8 ---ammo rack.
KV3 ..two bounces off front aiming at shoulders ( like IS3) ..got nice green + on right side front ..pen for damage every shot after but arty killed it.
Gonna get me one Thursday.  Its a nice tank but not a monster.
I will go for IS7 for the Ten.

Ya i was out in my new toys yesterday as well, and battled many of them.

I think like everyone has said, the armor updates to the IS4 have everyone a little perplexed.

I in my IS7 bounced 2 shots nose to nose, point blank on the IS4 drivers port....that NEVER used to happen, so some things have been tweaked a bit.

After doing that, i learned, driver port is no longer auto pen area.  Once i switched my tactics, all is good again.

IS8 = IS3 with a better gun, If you have 175+ pen, basically close your eyes and shoot at the thing.
Still a great tank, RoF at just under 11s/per with high pen.
