I just bought a Type 59, have always like the tank and jumped on the chance to buy one. I trained the crew to 100 percent right off the bat. Its spec speed says 54 or 56....I am lucky to get to 40....unless im going downhill. Anyone else have this problem??? I know how to play and have 12 other tanks sitting in my garage with over 1700 combined battles.....Why is this tank unable to hit its advertised speed on a flat??? I feel cheated.

In short.......all the butt hurt people who couldn't take the time to learn how to track and dispatch medium wolfpacks, but had all the time in the world to kill the tank in the forums. the tank will NOT get to max speed unless going downhill, or a speed gov, or 105 fuel. It has always been slow on acceleration, and not powered enough to hit max speed without help.

In a nutshell, just one more thing that makes it NOT a threat, never has been. The MM was the culprit as it would put 8 on the same side.

Have you ever played any other tank in the game?  Almost every one of them are like that!  Maybe save for the super light tanks like the t-50s every tank needs help to reach it's max speed.  You didn't get cheated, so stop whining.

You're not reaching top speed because most maps have lots of subtle elevation changes and you're constantly on the climb.

You will reach top speed on Himmselsdorf on the flatter surfaces and paved roads.

Mmm...Same as IS-7 on flat ground I think, same as lots of other tanks. I'm not too worried about it. Does it have anything to do with crew training?

And why does the amx 40 dosnt get to 50 kmh? Same reason: Not enough power.

You mean, you paid $35 for a tank without reading up on it first? You paid $35 without knowing what you were getting? Yeah, typical example of 'user error'. Finally, what do you expect us to do about it?

Hey I hit top speed in the amx 40 going downhill and backwards in Himmelsdorf just as an experiment to see if it would ever reach that top speed.  Used a training room to do it, as would of been unfair to team doing so in a match.  Forward it didn't quite do so.

He's not mad because of speed. He's mad because he won only 6 of 16 matches in his new "super" tank.

I just got to 55km/h 10 minutes ago without the "speed booster". Maybe your type is defected and somehow managed to sneak past QC :)?

P.S I was going down really high hill :)

Im simply stating the facts. I do have other tanks if you read my original post. I know how to play and what to put on a tank.Im not whining, My Sherman Super 8 consistently hits 48 kilometers per hour , which is its posted speed , on a flat. My other tanks getting pretty darn close to their posted speeds on a flat. A 14 KPH differnce is a BIG differnce. 40 KPH vs. 54KPH. It is nerfed on its speed, plain and simple. Why should I have to buy octane to get it to reach its max speed. I dont do that on any of my other tanks!! Simply stating the facts.

Do not regret because of that, type 59 is still a wonderful tank and IMO the best premium you can get for the $$$$.

I had my type 59 since before it was cancelled for the first time. I don't think it even reached 55km/h anywhere except going downhill. Same as most tanks I have. My IS4 can rarely reach it's posted limit, same as IS8. Only tanks I have that do it easy are bt2 and t50/t50-2

bdplaya, it's a great tank but after IS8 came out I kind of lost interest in it. IS8 feels like a type 59 on major dose of steroids :)

How exactly is 'Cheated out of money!' not whining? By putting that in your title you've already set the tone: that of an entitled whiny female dog. Claiming that wasn't the intent of your post comes like scrambling back to save face after the fact. Besides, it's not like the community didn't already know about the Tripe 59's underpowered engine.

When they were initially released they had no troubles hitting the speed limit on flat ground (though it still took a while to get there)  The acceleration on them was reduced a bit the same time the weak spot in the upper glacias appeared, and the ammo rack durability got halved. None of this ever was mentioned in any patch notes, but most original 59 owners know when it happened.  It's still a 'decent' tank, but not like it was originally. However it's been nerfed for a while now.. Long before they got pulled from the store.

If these claims you keep making are true, and I don't believe for a second that they are, then Type 59 was an OP piece of sh*t and rightfully "nerfed" since the "current version" I have is roflstomping.
