Why is there a limit to how many times you...

I started regularly browsing the forums about a month ago, and one of my favorite things to do is to vote up or down comments that I agree or disagree with. But there is something I've noticed: there is a limit to how many comments you can vote up, around 5 or 6 a day.

Now I wouldn't have a problem with this if the same was true for voting comments, but it isn't. As far as I can tell, there is no limit to how many comments you can vote down. You can only vote up 5 or 6 comments, but there is no limit to how many comments you can vote down.

Just putting it bluntly, that makes no sense. What's the reasoning for it? I can't see much of a reason for putting a limit on one but not putting a limit on the other, particularly when other sites don't do so. YouTube, for example, has no limit to either the number of comments you can vote up or the number of comments you can vote down. Why are the World of Tanks forums different?

If there is a justifiable reason for this, I can completely understand. But as I understand it now, it makes no sense and I would like to see it changed so that there is no limit to the number of comments you can vote up or down.

I'd appreciate hearing other thoughts/opinions on this.

I guessed at first this was an attempt to stop people from making multiple accounts and giving themselves a lot of +1's, when then I thought, "Wait, you can only +1 a comment once, that would do nothing!".

So I guess that I will never know the answer...and it is annoying too. Maybe an attempt to limit the time we spend on the forums so we can actually have a life of some sort? :Smile-hiding:

There is a limit to how many comments you can vote down. It's five.

No caps on vote ups/downs? Oh man,  I wonder what the trolls and spammers would do with this...
