After I rage quitted my game for today because of my third losing streak, I quickly became bored, and decided to browse the wiki to soak up some information about the new Russian tanks. However, I clicked the wrong country, and found myself staring at the Chinese tanks. I was about to go back, when I saw that there was FOUR Chinese tanks. The Type 62, the Type 59, the Type 59 G, and the WZ-111. Instantly, I took a craving for the WZ-111 and the Type 62. I opened both of them up in new tabs, and eagerly skimmed their stats and admired their weapons and armor. I hankered for the WZ-111, as I love Heavy tanks. This particular Chinese monstrosity was a truely awesome sight to behold; good armor, paired with a decent gun, made this tank one of my new dream tanks. Looking at it, I saw that it had a very well sloped sturdy front glacis plate, about 130mm thick. The sides were also relatively well protected, with 90mm of armor. The only weakspot was the back of the hull, with a mere 60mm of armor. As I merrily read along, my eyes widened at the speed of the tank. It had a whopping 50kph as it's top speed, rivaling the IS-7! However, I was dissapointed to find that it had only 625 horsepower, meaning acceleration would be slow.

So, what do you guys think about the WZ-111? What are your opinions?

Since 7.3, I feel I woke up to find strange russian tanks asploding me, huge american tanks racing around asploding me and also unpossible for me to asplode them, and everyone else in the game seem to know all about all this....

First time I've seen/heard of this tank.

Why is it only available in China?  Wait, it does not say RU so, I guess china plays on RU server or is there an RU and a CH server?

There is a CH server running by a Chinese company which has a contract with WOT

The Type 59G has been done wrong. WG made it simply a golden Type 59 with little to no stat changes, while in reality the Type 59G is a drastically modernized variant of the Type 59, complete with modern electronics, gun, engine, firing controls, and turret from the Type 90 series of MBT.

i heard it costs about $400-500 and has way more credit generation value than any tier 8 premium out there.

Historically I think the engine power on the WZ-111 was around 550hp.  There's a reason the Chinese didn't pursue it as an acceptable design.

More like 3888 RMB, which is more than US$600 after conversion. Also, not only does the Gold Type 59 have inflated credit earnings when compared to other premiums, it also has inflated exp earnings, something that no other premium has.

It looks to have similar if not the same weaknesses as the IS-3. The lower glacis might be 130mm thick, but its flat, and if its one thing the KV-4 should have tought us, is that flat armor is soft armor. It could be angled, but at that point you might as well shoot at the pike. At 50 tons, a 650 horsepower engine is not that impressive. Its comparable to the IS-3 with the stock engine, and that's not terribly impresive.

The gun is the same D-25T that we all know and love from the IS series. The rate of fire slow, the pen isn't spectacular, the accuracy is underwhelming, but it does have great alpha.

All in all, this tank doesn't really look overpowered or unbalanced, except for maybe as a premium.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this WZ111 to the IS-8 what the Type 59 is to the T-54?

Maybe the stats have been altered a little, but supposedly it's a chinese copy of the IS-8.


Now the Type 62.... that I could really go for... Take a Type-59 and put it into a copy machine set at 85% scale. The Tier 6 AMX 13/XX hunter is born!

check out this little video of the tank on a chinese website. a officer is actually giving a little real life lecture on the tank in the chinese WoT trailer, and clearly the tank was not a match with the tier 10s

At 1:36 of the video,he was clearly comparing the tank to the IS-3,the real match for the WZ-111, not the IS-7 or IS-4.Proving that the tank is not the right and powerful rival for the IS-7 and IS-4,but really the IS-3.


The tank design was based on the IS-3,so basically, WZ-111 and IS-3 are cousin tanks, even though IS-7 and IS-4 are also cousins, IS-3 is the most cousinest between them.

btw,you may notice the graphics of the tanks in the trailer is poor, dunno why,but heres another video of chinese server gamepley in fairer but not high graphics

btw,that player ^^^ uses gold premium shells,hence why he one shot so many tanks.percentages of players who pays in the chinese server is incredibly high

They did not.

The Chinese server is run by an independent company on contract by WarGaming.

WarGaming has no involvement with the Chinese server.
