I'm using a Windows XP slow computer. For some reason before the new update my computer was running 6-7 FPS which was normal for me. Now, it's only 1-2 FPS. Any ideas on how to lessen the lag? I've setted all graphics to the lowest possible but still lags.

To Install, just unzip into the C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.7.3 folder

Go to start menu and right click and open windows explorer.  Find the C drive and expand ( click the + ).  Find the games folder and expand.  Find the world of tanks folder and expand. Find the res_mods folder and expand.  Select the 0.7.3 folder and unzip the mod there.  It replaces the current file without all the heavy graphics stuff like smoke, fire, flames, etc.

Fps issues are not lag issues - lag is latency between u and wot server which is measured with ping, no?

KurgenSPK sorry to say, ping is the time between you and another computer and back again. Lag is cause of low FPS means files per second.

You sir are correct, FPS is "frames per second", slow on this is most likely video card, CPU or i believe RAM related. Sometimes a update to video card can help. You can help this with all the video  settings at their lowest and i beieve there are a few things on the forums about getting the FPS up.

Lag is when you have a problem of information flow speeds back and forth from the server, high ping, packet loss, Etc.  I get this at times and it mostly hapens when there are more than 25,000 on the server or if my IP is doing maintenence.

Good luck with your problems.

The link Monkey gave you will help a lot but it strips the eye candy away from the game which is a small price to pay for an enjoyable experience.

Other ways are to Customise XP by turning off features not needed, I used to run my XP cold & hard, it didn't need all the warm fluffy features, Gamebooster3 which will also turn off all un-neccesary applications running on your PC & speed it up  http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html its free & 10bit also have a really good De-frag which is also free & optimizes your system as well (And No Spam which usually comes with free Apps)

Doing ALL of the above should get you to 25 to 30 FPS which is very playable.

Flush the DNS and see if that helps.

Edit:  Another thing....if you run off of a wireless router, try using a wire instead...it can significantly decrease the lag.

No, lag is associated with server connection/ping  and latency issues - FPS is associated with your own machine's horsepower. Turning down graphics options/resolution will increase FPS... only way to improve lag is to improve your internet connection and stop downloading "stuff" in teh background while you play ;-)

I also backed down the resolution of the game on my work laptop.  It was having FPS issues, client crashing, etc.  Some would universally call these 'lag' issues, right or wrong.

The slow PC mods helped as well as the resolution reduction.
