Sweet
I use curse with a few of my other games. Very easy to use and very easy to update your mods.

And why is WG endorsing this site, and not the others? mirtankov.net and drongo-lab.ru have hundreds of more mods, completely safe, have fast downloads and updated daily. You may have to use a translator to understand some of the info there; but if you can't use a translator, then you probably should not be trying to install any mods any way.
Most humorously, WG is not even mentioning its own mod sub-forum.
Curiously, I received a neg for what I posted. Glad I did not mention how Curse was compromised Dec 2011 with a virus that stole registered users information, or how there are two banned mods posted on that site.

General Direction is just highlighting another source for mods. I don't know about curse but it seems to me it has mods for other games as well. Having WoT mods in there would actually be a form of advertisement allowing more people to come into contact with WoT.
Also, who the hell are you to say people should not be modding their game just because they cannot use a Translator? Most often than not, these online translators produce some real gibberish. Maybe, just maybe, it would be good to have another source of mods to be in English? Furthermore, it makes more sense for WoT NA to promote an English source for WoT mods.
Mirtankov and drongo-lab are good and I am sure the RU server has endorsed it. So why can't the NA server endorse another site especially one in English?

Mirtankov does have an English sister-site, but the Russian site is my preferred use. And as one of the prominent modders in our community, I have been told several times that WG will not actively support us. This thread announcing Curse sounds like an endorsement, and I am quite shocked.

If you look at my profile, you will see who/what I am. I definitely am not a "flamer." I voiced very valid issues regarding this announcement.

Sorry if I made you seem like "flamer" but you just shove everyone that does not or want to use a translator as someone inept at computers. To me, WoT does not look like it is "supporting" modding but just another alternative location to get mods. Also, if WG does not support modding, I am sure an entire sub-section of the forums would not exist. A location more accessible for the NA playerbase.
As far a WG is concerned, having mods hosted on curse is just another site to have its image posted (the WoT poster is now on the Curse homepage) and get free (if I am not wrong) advertising.

Hey everyone, I'm a WoT player myself and am currently working for Curse in the effort to build a variety of services for the community which includes the mod section that has been linked. Please keep in mind that we're just getting started on this and a lot of other projects for WoT so it will take some time to iron out the kinks and make everything run smoothly. Our main goal with the mod section is to provide authors with a centralized location free of file size restrictions and the like that will allow them to put their work in one place for easy distribution to the variety of places they publish their work. We're working to provide them with things like English/Russian translation so that we can help integrate as much of the WoT community as possible for everyone to share their efforts.
I'll be answering anyone's questions and/or concerns as they appear because it truly is our intent to do right by the community.
I want to start off by saying that any Curse employee will never neg rep a complaint or concern. I gave you a plus to help compensate because I've seen your work, like it and think it's well within your rights to ask questions especially as a member of the author community.
Curse itself has never been compromised in that way. I wasn't working here at that point in time but from what I understand the issue came from a google ad that wasn't malicious originally but was adjusted at a later point in time and became a security risk to those who clicked it. It took no information from Curse and it happened to a lot of other sites. Even in event that user information was stolen it is well encrypted so there is no real need for concern. Curse took action on this issue as soon as it became aware of it. Full info on this can be found: here
As far as the questionable/banned mods are concerned it is part of my responsibility to make sure these kinds of things don't happen. In the event that you see anything that has slipped past me anyone can feel free to send me a message and I'll take care of it immediately. A perfect example of this is the "Increased Artillery Zoom" mod that was previously available. I'd originally heard that it was fair because it helped equalize the advantage that others with multiple monitors and large resolutions have. As soon as it was brought to my attention I contacted a Wargaming NA rep and was told that it was questionable at best so I immediately took it down until an official verdict can be made. It will be an on going effort so if you ever come across something that doesn't sit right with you don't hesitate to contact me.

Considering how Curse has a very simplified UI, its a welcome addition to modding resources for WoT...
