Just as a suggestion but how about there be a 6 day CW schedule and then the 7th day of the week be a tourney day. This would ensure that the people who participate seriously in CW aren't hamstrung every saturday (or whatever day the tourneys are on) and if you designate a particular day as the tourney day, then maybe more people will show up. Just a thought.
Love this idea! It would take longer for conventional tournaments (seasons unaffected), though as suggested many would find it preferable to face more than one team each night.

You could have multiple tourney's run over the course of the day. Have a different tourney fight every half hour or every hour during the time CW normally is going on (7pm - 10pm eastern time).
What would also be really cool, but would take quite a while to develop, would be a spectating client specifically made to watch Tourney battles but would scan your computer for any type of VoIP program and either mute your mic or not let you in until they are closed.

We have had a LOT of technical victories in this season. I don't know what the answer is but for us to do this again something needs to be done to assure us of actual battles. We put in a couple of hours of prep time and makle sure we show up on a Saturday night. This is a huge letdown.

Or put in a time delay like hltv for source games.
