So excited for this event! Is Wargaming still needing volunteers to run their booth?

Haven't been down to New Orleans in a few years. I hope I'll have the time and cash to attend. Didn't even know it was down there!

On August 10-12, 2012 the National WW II Museum in New Orleans will be hosting their sixth annual Heat of Battle Wargame Convention. World of Tanks is a "pround" sponsor of this event; one that promotes WW II historical education and gaming. Some of our own Wargaming America "representives" will be present at the convention, so if you're planning on attending please do come say hello.
You misspelled proud and representatives. Just saying.

Like MagicPony said, proud and representatives are misspelled.
Still, cool that ya'll will be there. Hopefully, we can get a AAR or something from ya'll once the event is over.

What games they play?
It's a tabletop gaming convention focusing on WWII genre games - air, ground, naval. The line-up hasn't been set yet, but you can rely that some games there will be Command Decision, Squad Leader, Advanced Squad Leader, Warbirds, Axis & Allies, etc.. the major game companies, and hard core gamers, sponsor (competition, friendly, learner) games over the whole weekend. You can sign up early for a spot at the table, or just walk up in many cases. You'll even see some of the old Avalon Hill games being played
There will also be a Flames of War tournament.
More info from the WWII Museum site: http://www.nationalw...ing/index.html?
And Sergeant's Minature Games has a Facebook with good photos of previous Heat of Battle cons: https://www.facebook...71287251&type=3

I've only missed one since the conventions started. In the past 2 years, I have run a scenario of 'The Battle for Normandy' on the main floor of the convention (and I know Walt Burgoyne, the guy that sets it up every year). My son and I have just started playing World of Tanks and we really enjoy it. Every year, they have a different tank to include next to the Sherman tank that is always there on display. If all goes well (no hurricane in the gulf or hurricans that caused trouble) I will be there again this year.

It should be pretty fun. Our tabletop gaming group was planning on going there, and it will be a good way to get a lot of those guys into WOT.

I will assume a lot of planning had to go into this convention and being the sponsor of the event, I'm sure took a lot of communication with the event staff. I just curious with all this planning, why is it, the event gets mentioned in this forum 2 days before the event ?
People who might like to take in the event that would travel from some distance, might need to make necessary arrangements that can't be pulled off in two days. I have see this last minute notification is fairly common with most of these events. How about a lil more notice next time ?
