To get the Pershing or not to get?

Just finished grinding through T20.
I had absolute blast in it with ridiculous W/D ratio.
So far T20 is my best tank.
Should I get the Pershing? I've heard good things about it.
I have the top gun researched already.
Is it much different than T20 in terms of tactics, you know 'whack & run'?

Yes, it's that much better.
Not as quick, but better DPM and a blast to run. Have to think a bit more.

I thought the pershing was a bit more mobile then the t20? i mean its speed is fun but its traverse is pretty bad for a med.
Also i've had similiar success to you in my t20 OP. I think i have like a 65% winratio on it :P, fun tank to play.

Pershing is just an upgraded armour and gun tank from the T20, it's bigger. I like it from my playing experience in it on my clanmates/CC accounts.

Less acceleration... Hmm.. I don't like the sound of it. ...
Then again, Forcestorm, you have excellent W/D ratio with it... How do you play it?

Umm...trollzy? Never really thought about 'how' I play it, the style is a fusion of all the US heavies and the US meds I played before I got it.
I guess I'll post some replays at some point, might be the best way to explain it.
I can say I rely heavily on hull-down and popping in and out of cover.
Here's all the matches I've played since 7.3 came out, I have no idea what's in there though be warned, didn't have time to quality check it.

Most of my play time in it has been 7.1 and 7.2, so sadly all the replays are junk now.

The Pershing is an awesome med, very fun to drive.
After sucking monkey balls with the germans (Panther, Panther II, E-50), I recently discovered the joy of american mediums.
A Pershing is a better T20, and a Patton is a better Pershing. You can't go wrong with these.

The Pershing is okay. I don't like it as much as I do my Easy 8 or my T20, but it's a decent ride. I'm keeping mine, even after I get the Patton in a few weeks.

Yeah, I intend to rebuy mine not long after I pick up a Patton.

I did not play American line until recently.
First I went through Russian, then German, then French (stopped on AMX 50 120 and Lorraine).
Love the American TD line. Hellcat was a blast.
I do not have much of experience with American tanks, so thank you Forcestorm for your replays.

They're not my best by a long shot (damn these patch incompatibilities!), but I hope you learn a few things.

Can't say enough good things about the persh, now the Patton and I are not friends, I have 100 games with it and its killing my soul, but the persh is my favorite medium tank so far and I have been down the German and American lines to the end.

the pershing is a great tank. i had alot of fun games in it. it has really good MM and the tanks its self is beast
armor is very bouncy, lower tier tanks have trouble penning you and you will get the occasional bounce from a large guns (i have bounced mother russias bl-10 on the turret). its speed is ample, panther 2 t44 and of course the lorraine are faster but u have really good turning and a good gun. 180 isnt alot but its all the pershing needs. very accurate and good rpm. had 9 kills in it which was my high score until recently, and a 60% winrate. i wouldnt know how to sum up a play style other than live as long as u can and flank. all in all its a tank everyone shoud play and now im enjoying the patton even more.

I've got the Pershing and got rid of it after 10 battles. I did not like it much. Not enough armor, speed, gun power. Could not disengage from fights fast like in T20. (I had Pershing with top equipment except for the radio and 100% crew with some additional skills).
I know it must be me and not the tank but at this moment I rather stay with my T20.

It took me until I got past 100 battles to get above dead even. My crew still isn't 100%. I don't like it as much as my T20 yet, but it is beginning to grow on me. You really have to play it very smart.

I just got the pershing and have about 15 games so far. I can give you my thoughts for what they're worth.
Cons:
1. Not as fast as the T20. If you feel like you spend a lot of time getting from A to B, you might get frustrated at the slower speed.
2. Acceleration is nothing to write home about, but it's not awful.
3. Higher repair cost. If you're not running premium, this might price you out. I just got premium, so I don't know yet.
Pros:
1. Better turning than the T20. Thing turns on a dime at a nice rate. I feel like I have a lot of options in repositioning myself and weaving around tanks/terrain.
2. The MM will treat you better. When you're in the T20, you get T10 matches. Moving up in the Pershing no longer moves you up in MM (maybe arty is higher?).
3. More life.
4. Better gun. Don't have it yet, but 20 pen will make a big difference I think. Nothing worse than bouncing off the side because the angle isn't quite right. This will help a bit.
5. Way better armor. I don't think I've ever had the luxury of bouncing a shot in an american medium. Last game I played I bounced a shot or two from a Tiger II off my mantle. Hull down feels much nicer now and I really enjoy having that option as a last resort when I'm taking shots.
Just a few of my thoughts.

Looking forward to the Pershing after just eliting the T20. It has the 2 things I want that the T20 doesn't.
1) a real gun mantle/shield. The T20 doesn't have one and turret is paper.
2) higher turn rate. T20 hust feels.....slow to turn.
