I'm trying to figure out how many people actually care about the answers to half of the questions on this YAWR.  I don't feel like I'm any more informed about 7.4 than before reading this.  I'm still waiting for the German tree revision :Smile-hiding:

Will the French tier 9 TD AMX50 Foch top gun just be a 120mm ? or will it be able to mount a even more powerful gun?
Probably the 120mm. The thing is, it's probably gonna be stealthier than the other French tanks and have a clip system, so it will be great in ambushes and hit-and-run tactics.

1) It's frustrating playing a tank that was already obsolete German technology in 1940 against a French tank from 1984.  Those AMX 12 and AMC 13 tanks really don't belong (or they belong in a MUCH higher tier).  Playing with those in the game isn't worth the frustration - games are supposed to be FUN cause anger and make me regret spending MONEY on this game.  Vietnam era tanks simply don't belong on a WWII battlefield.  Might as well send some M-1 Abrams against some PzIIs...

2) Games would be really interesting if they were divided up by year.  That way there would be no early war 1939 tanks battling late war or 1946+ tanks.  Keeping combatants in their own "generations" would be nice.

3)  Dividing up teams by country would be cool, too!  Let the "Match Maker" team up German tanks together, Russian tanks together, US tanks together, etc.  Then it'd be more like "kursk" instead of "free for all fantasy."  Or they could be generally divided into "allied" and "axis" if not enough players with a particular country's tanks are online.  In this way, similar tanks could employ more realistic tactics to overcome enemy technology.

To implement these fixes, perhaps categories of play could do it all, through the "Match Maker" alone:
  a) WoT: Generations (tanks roughly divided by era to avoid pitting new against old (#1&2 above)
  b) WoT: Historical (grouping teams by tank nationality as well as by generations)
  c) WoT: Axis and Allies (grouping teams by these two broad categories as well as by generations)

The bigges, best, most awsome change you could make:  get rid of those 'Nam era AMX 12/13 tanks or dramatically increase their tier to balance game play.

From Overlord's blog

Quote

It's quite safe to say that the tree will get its own (oh yes, it was hard) tier 10 HT, tier 9 MT and TD, and top tier SPG. So the tree is going to be quite branchy, though getting tighter to the top tiers.

Q: I've heard about the European tree and that you've found T10 HT, T9 MT and T8 arty. My question is: How the hell did you manage to do that? And what nationality will the T10 be?

Here's my impression of this Q & A:

Can you tell us about the new french tanks?
They will be tank shaped.

Can this be fixed?
We don't do that.

Can you guys do this?
maybe.

Are we going to see this improved?
Not at the moment.

Hey is this going to happen?
Nope.

Let's think...what do you put on Russian server...ah yeah...BOSS FIGHT...U know give same thing to all server?
Is it because we are the north ''american'' server? Can you stop giving everything,(2x credit special, boss fight, good special, a lot more good specials,NA pre-purchase tank in russian giftshop, but no KV-220 in NA giftshop) to russian and nothing to us?

"We have no plans to do this in the future."

nice stock response...not sure why i waste my time reading these...u can tell they tried to cherry pick the least damaging questions...but must have ran out since a few of the questions were actually good ideas...but they still had to say "NO"

according to wargamings CEO they are pulling in 10's of millions of USD a month..so glad that is going toward bird sound effects

Yet another "no-fest" and refusal to fix the bad MM for tier 6 (and other) tanks.

Total waste of memory (bytes & grey matter).  The last few YAWRs really make you look bad... as my Daddy used to say "If you're going to do something half-assed, don't bother."
Hint: Wait until you have a firm idea of what the comming update involves, then publish the list & the anticipated go-live date.

I like this game, and enjoy playing.  There are things that need reworking, and fixing, but all in all it is a good experience... YAWRs fall into the reworking/fixing category for sure.

I don't know if this is the proper venue to submit questions for future YAWRs, but since I have no better option, this is where I will pose the question.

Whatever became of the plans for implementing a second main gun on tanks that historically had them?

French B1 (and German Pz B2)

Basically a heavy tank with a light tank's gun.  It's very embarrassing to go nose to nose with a tier IV medium and find he can kill you because he only has to get two hits to your twelve in order to accumulate lethal damage.

If the B1 (Pz B2) could have its hull mounted 75mm, at least the Lees and T-28s wouldn't be quite so eager to face hug it.

US M3 Lee

Basically a lumbering TD in medium tank clothing, with the size of a barn as an added benefit.  It's very embarrasing to be circle strafed to death by any tier 3 light in the game.  The Lee has a good turn rate, but not good enough for self defense in these situations.

If the Lee could have its turret, at least the the BT-7s might get tracked now and then while they are running circles around it killing it.

German Maus

I know, I know, the "poor little Maus" as if it needed help.  But seriously:  It had a coaxial 75mm.

Now think about that the next time your Maus has a BatChat parked behind it.  The BatChat knows he can unload his clip and safely hide in the time it takes you to reload the main gun... but what if you had a 75mm?  The BatChat fears a 75, since his armor is basically war paint :Smile_veryhappy:

I could go on, but this seems enough for the question.

Instead of having some total idiot ask a stupid question just post what we ARE going to get,,,less reading and same results, since it is clear that the player base has no influence in any decision made,,,

I feel it's easier for them to give vague answers, this way they cant be held responsible to varies results. Instead of giving us answers to what we WILL get, they speak like politicians and talk a lot without saying anything.

Do you plan on increasing the quality of your answers, or the questions you select any time soon? Because as it is, 99% of these threads are highly irrelevent to the interests of most players.

Or will you at least reducing the percentage of BS non-answer answers you give?

will it be possible to choose a map to play instead of just getting random maps or even a short list to choose from?

why even bother publishing the YAWR if your just going to give company stock answers, or just be very very vague?

god, WG makes the CIA look bad on information withheld.

This. Personally, I'd rather have people pissed at me for not being specific than getting lynched for failing to deliver on a perceived promise.

I have moved from the US to Europe (family and all) VISA ran out when my job finished.
I am playing on the US server & want to transfer to the EU server, so my now 5 Tier 10 tanks can participate in CW in a time I'm actually awake!

Please make us move server (happy to pay gold for this service & happy to get a new name as well since mine may be in use already)

This service is already offered for moves to SEA server, why not allow it for us?

"Q: Will there be a new French TD line through the AMX 12t?  I'd like to know now so I can start saving EXP.
A: A full French TD line is coming; you can start saving experience for it."

.. And I thought the last Q&A was bad...

WoTs,

Once the Premium Germany Ferdinand 88mm TD comes out, with the std Ferdinand still be available through regular game play upgrades?

The premium TD in 7.4 will be the Jagdtiger 88, not Ferdinand. And yes, the regular Jagdtiger and Ferdinand will still be there, this vehicle is just being added as an extra premium tank. Hope this answers your questions :)
