Why am I getting 20-30FPS in this game? The graphics aren't even all that great....They're pretty sub-par.

My specs:

AMD Phenom™ II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
4GB of DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6870
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850)

AMD + ATI = uber win :D
What settings are you running at?

1. this game only uses 1 core so you're not going to be able to take advantage of that multi-core
2. this game uses 1 GB of system memory (well from what I can see in Task Manager)

Get used to it.  I have found that if you run Game Booster and the use Millbarges mod, it equals a win win.  i still get between 20-30 FPS
but I don't have the jumpy, laggy play I used to.  WOT TWEAKER for 7.3 is also available, if you can figure out how to install it.

Interestingly enough, my Intel + Nvidia setup nets me 60~100+ FPS with most graphics maxed out. ;)

Not to rub salt in the wound though...

OP: Just the simple basics are all I can remind you of here (as my hardware is different). Drivers up to date? Checked for excessive background programs running? Any overheating issues? Hopefully the AMD people will step in and nail it for you though.

Specs:
AMD Athelon X4 635 ~2.9Ghz
Nvidia GTX 550Ti OC @ 1024Mhz
8Gb Ram
Windows 7 Premium 64 bit

Start toggling options in game and see if you can find a combination that works best. I suggest turning off v-sync, water simulation, & advanced post-processing. Then try foliage, shadows, water quality and use FXAA instead of MSAA.

Check your ati profiles, make sure the global is default values and if you have worldoftanks.exe added, set that to default as well.

Also check out tweakguides, download the free version, for your OS and go through it. If you want this game, and every other game you own, to run at its fastest and most trouble-free, it is recommended you go read that guide. Many people report problems with this game and in almost all cases these are due to general system issues and not the game itself.

Tried some of those things and VYSNC is off. My FPS increased of course...

I guess at this it comes down to optimization issues. The game is barely making use of my CPU. It's literally using only one core..

You can limit the CPUs world of tanks has to choose from, it may help performance a small bit. Example batch script below, just copy paste it into a text file and change the extension from .txt to .bat and use it to launch to game. I use this to force the game to run on CPU2, leaving CPU0 and others for different processes:
@echo on
cd /d "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks"
start "" /affinity 4 /HIGH /WAIT /B WorldOfTanks.exe /n "%1
Might want to edit the path to the game directory, or the value for the affinity switch if you want to use another core.

Also here's a small article on multi-threading and valves solution, just to give you an idea of what it is, how complicated it can be and the pros/cons. There's a reason most triple-A games do not utilize more than one thread at a time, some like Crysis 2 use a crude method to split the sound from everything else, but that can be buggy introduce latency issues.

i can run about 30-120 fps which makes no sense to me at all and this is on high not maxed out but i can go play BF3 MAXED np lol i think this game just hates computers in general

and when i say 30- 120 fps ill get 15 looking across the map as the other team is spotted and then when i look away ill get 120 fps i have no clue as to why my pc cant just num this game up like its a twinkie being eating by a kid...... but its kinda of annoying knowing you got a badass pc but you cant play a free to play game with max graphics lol i tried taking out all mods thinking that was the issue i have set my affinity in task manager to 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 cores nothing helps i have all my drivers needed and can play every other game out there without issues i guess its just the game huh?

Specs:
AMD FX Series 8 core 8120 bulldozer 3.1ghz
Nvidia GTX 560Ti 800 Mhz 1GB DDR5
8GB DDR3 (1600) Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Try PC Pitstop.(or Microsoft FIX IT free) Its free..they will scan your PC and tell you exactly what's not working properly and they will fix it, or tell you what to do. Its free !
No one here can tell really...can be hardware or software. Make sure your PC doesn't run a ton of programs while playing..even defrag your hard disk will help for speed.
Check and see if your driver for your video card is updated and get rid of programs you really don't need.
If that doesn't work nothing will. And don't use a wireless !   Good luck.  ( I know because i built my own PC's.)

Max everything then drop the ones that historically cause the most hit and test for impact. Shadows, PP, AA etc. See which one or combination is causing the biggest hit for you and drop it until it plays like you want it.

Even on my ridiculous extreme rig I see a hit in some areas on some maps and drop into the 50's and some places into the 40's (very annoying).

In addition to whatever multi core (or lack thereof) support WOT may have, DX9 also has a single render path/thread limitation from what I've read in the past which is another crap-factor. Pure DX11 could resolve that issue.

That helped a lot how to activate core 3 and 4 ?

WoT ultimately decides how many CPUs to utilize based on its programming. All this script does is limit the choices.

Well this isnt making alot of sense.....

my old 260 GTX with 896 RAM got me a consistent 25-45 FPS range

Now with the new 550 TI with 2064 RAM I am getting 8-10 FPS with everything turned down to the lowest settings!!!???
